Hello, I got huge problem with Mistward Armor, specifically how you get it. When you end achievement you have little chest and click accept. Problem is that there is no warning! that you will soulbound this item to character when you click accept. This is very bad because I got two pieces on my ranger and I wanted it on my revenant. I don’t understand why don’t make it like other items you got from Specialization Collection and make it account bound on acquire. Then maybe make it souldbound when you put it on.

“You break it – i break you.”
“Might makes me right!”

Thats how it should be, its an achievement armor, all the other achievement stuff is account bound on acquire, this should be no different. Seems to me that it was an oversight more than anything else.

Just break it down. You have the skin.

Some people, like me, would like to give the revenant that exotic armor, so that is a bad solution.

If you hover your mouse button over the Mistward armor icon in the achievement panel you could have read it’s soulbound on acquire. Not that I understand why ANet did that, but it’s not as if there was no way of knowing this before you got them. There is ample information you can get on an item by hovering your mouse button over it. I know from map chat that a lot of people don’t, considering people asking questions they can find the answer to if they just take the effort to look, but the information is there. You just didn’t check it.

I think they should definetely change this to account bound, achievements are at their core account bound things. I don’t recall anything coming from achievements ever being soulbound. I noticed this before I got my first piece thankfully and now my Revenant is using it but you are definetely not the first and not the last that ran into this problem.

I’ve not got a massive issue, though it seams odd they’d do this, but what ever.

My problem is I’ll never see the headpiece (though I can transmog it from starter gear pieces)….as the metas in the last 2 maps never happen.

Yeah!! I have the same problem also. I am missing the Mistward Helm Casing . You get it as a reward by defeating Chak Gerent in Tangled Depths. The problem is that the event always fails because its quite difficult event and few people on the map.

Yup, the chak gerent meta event is almost impossible for pugs and still really difficult for full TS organized maps too. I suspect if they don’t lower the bosses health everyone will be ditching this map once they have mistward helm casing.

If you have to thoroughly research every little move you do (ffs it’s receiving rewards) you would never get past level 1. There was a form of consistency that was in place, just like how the address bar is generally at the top of the browser in ALL browsers, just like the home page button is almost ALWAYS (unfortunately there’s a lot of web devs that don’t follow ux practices) at the top of the page, (here’s something more relate-able to the game) the 1 skill is always your auto attack skill for weapons, etc… There was/is no reason to suspect a reward (which has always been accountbound) to all of the sudden be soulbound. It’s not as if this was a regular occurrence where people generally already check before hand, this was just thrust upon with no warning.

lvl80 Guardian lvl80 Ranger lvl80 Elementalist lvl80 Thief …. Why do I list these anymore?

Clearly you haven’t played Revenant underwater yet, because skill 2 also functions as an auto attack skill without cooldown. But that’s besides the point.
I understand that people miss it, but humans/humanity are hardly consistent. I try to never make an assumption without checking up if it’s true. Better safe than sorry. The point is, people often preview armor before they decide what it is they want on their characters (I know I do). That means hovering over the icon. That means the information does appear onscreen but people assume it’s what they think it is instead of checking up on their assumption. And I’m sure you’ve also noticed many people asking things in game they can just as easily look up for themselves if they read the tooltips. I understand that the “It’s always been the same so it will always stay the same” argument is the easy option for most, but it’s an argument that will eventually always fail.

The gerents health isn’t the issue. The fact that it can fail for quite a few different reasons beyond anyones control is the issue.

That and for some reason it feels like the mega server system isn’t letting as many people into the map as it should is an issue, too.

I previewed it in two place: 1.) in the public beta where all Revenants had it by default, and 2.) in the wardrobe after release, neither of them indicted it would be soulbound on aquire(so stupid too)

to the person above, i hope that was sarcasm. It would be entitled to ask for the armor for free, we are not doing that.

I disagree, yes it can fail from events. But with a little instruction the events don’t really seem all that difficult imo. There are already tons of events in game currently that can fail beyond anyone’s control. A single person is not going to change the outcome of any meta map event, people on the map need to be on board participating.

After running this event nearly 20 times now(on organized maps), there is has been a lack of dps 80% of the time, for at least 2, sometimes 3 lanes. Regardless of the events failing or not. The whole map was told to run dps gear each time.

It makes sense that the achievement reward soulbinds to characters that can’t use it, despite breaking consistency as every other achievement reward either being impossible to complete on characters that can’t use them, or account bound rather than soulbound.

They’re not giving a skin, they’re giving actual armour pieces. If it was intended to just be a skin, they’d have just given out a skin, these were meant to be usable.
