I just wanted to mention that onyx lodestones don’t seem to drop from anything except from certain loot bags. This makes collecting 100 of them a really challenging task unless they’re bought from the TP. I didn’t mind doing this when I was going after my legendary, but many others probably feel the same way.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the number of available supply on the TP, and it has been dropping. The price of lodestones have also been rising as a result.

Will there be any opportunities in the future to gather these rare mats in HoT?

Bumping. In terms of the Onyx Lodestones – still interested if ArenaNet has thoughts on this?

You can get Onyx lodestones from Earth Elementals, Dust Mites (who also drop charged lodestones) and I’ve never had a problem getting them. Dust Mites seem to drop onyx more often than charged (which is what I want).

Farm Dry Top or the Silverwastes and you’ll have no issues getting lodestones and/or cores to upgrade to lodestones.

I would like more Mat variety in reward chests, tbh. I have something like 3k of each ascended crafting material, and I haven’t taken the time/money to get any of my crafting from 400 to 450 to actually use them.

I get a fair amount of Onyx cores (and sometimes lodestones) from TA chests as well. Same like you have a decent change at charged from CoE.

This method is completely reliant of [censored] RNG.

I would rather see lodestones added to something along the lines of the map rewards they talked about for T6 material acquisition.
