As far as I know, there has been no news about the second set, no teasers, no leaks, just information embargo.

As someone who preordered HoT with little hesitation, I am slightly off-put by the lack of communication.
(Correct me someone, if I am simply under-informed. )

Really, when are we going to even get 15 characters about the next set of legendaries ?

They got you to buy the expansion didn’t they? That’s why.

The less sarcastic answer? When they did the announcement in January of 2015, they said “new legendaries”. Then in March in Linsey Murdock’s blog, at the very bottom of the post it said “handful of new legendaries”. Then it got whittled down to 3 during gamescom or PAX Prime. I don’t remember which and then the post you cited as having “regular intervals”. 3+ months later and we still havent even had information on what “regular” means. It’s awful communication. I feel your pain, Malchior. It’s one of the main reasons I refrained from purchasing the expansion. Too much lawyer talk and not enough just being straight about what was or wasn’t actually going to be in the x-pac.

Part of the issue was the huge amount of bugs and poor design for obtaining current legendaries and the pre cursor crafting. There was a large overhaul to fix a bunch of stuff. The team that develops legendaries was in charge of fixing this since it was their mess. So this put making new legendaries on the back burner. I’m sure they are now actively making the new ones but (I believe) they planned to already release 3 more but have been behind due to bugs/issues.

I’m not making an excuse here for them. I’m just giving some background. The bugs were inevitable and I can understand that. However there were issues with design such as needing events to fail in order to progress. This was a huge oversight and should never have been in release. They have corrected those issues now tho, which I believe was the better choice over ignoring them and releasing new legendaries.

Remember when they first announced pre-purchase they told us we were getting a full set.

2 months later there was a footnote at the bottom of a blog post that said instead of a full set we were getting “a handful”, presumed to be 5-6.

2 months after that we were told by a dev post on a 3rd party website that we were only getting 3.

Also remember that it took 3 years and 2 months for them to make the 3 that we did get, even though they were promised to be added as free content by the end of 2014.

Also remember that we are now only getting 4 content updates a year until the next expansion.

Also remember that the winter and spring content patches have already been revealed and detailed with no mention of the legendary weapons.

Putting all this information together means that it is highly likely that we will not see another set of 3 legendary weapons until ~Q1 of 2017.

Keep your expectations low and there is only a 90% chance that Anet will still disappoint you.

Um, if they were promised in late 2014, it’s been more like 15 months, not 38. (They are always working on stuff; we can only measure how long it’s been since they’ve stated soon™, not how long it’s been in production.)

The rest of your points still offer a bleak enough picture that I believe ANet should address — I can think of reasons why stuff might be delayed and I’m still disappointed about how they are handling the communication.

I guess we’ll find out what regular means. On the other hand didn’t they say something about regular balance patches at one point?

More likely each set of 3 legendaries is locked behind an expansion paywall while all other content updates pretty much cease.

Anet will just merge this thread with the other one and ignore it, like usual.

Yep, this is just gettin’ frustraiting..

Next set of legendaries will come out with next expansion. They should at least give us preview how they look, same goes for armor. And while we are at weapons.. where are revenant wep skins?

It better not be expac gated. They’ve proven with the hot release fiasco that they aren’t prepared to be working on such large content updates.

Next expansion or next Xpac? because Next Xpac will be in 3+ years. I can’t believe that would be a realistic wait. So many old legendaires in Gw2 vanilla why so few in HoT?

nowdays the old legendary weapons dont even look so legendary since all players have em’ and the new ones… Anet gave us 3 legendary weapons, ok, cool, they look amazing, have nice efects but where are the others? i want a new greatsword ( im sick of sunrise skins all over the place) and i wait for it since Hot launch day

Better looking than Bolt at least. I feel sorry for people who spent time and all that money making that decorative fencing with a handle they called a sword.

It’s just a matter of opinion and taste. Some people like it some people don’t. I made bolt as my first before it was really popular (most people were making GS first or perhaps bifrost). It’s fine you don’t like it but it’s silly to “feel bad” for someone for having a differing opinion than you.

Its all about market actualy, anything they would announce by now will impact the trading post and im pretty sure they wait the good moment to announce things to make sure nothing goes in a wrong direction, i guess …

Oh this is a bull kitten excuse , if this is your logic there will NEVER be a good time to introduce new legenderies because that will ALWAYS cause the market to fluctuate.

As for the sword linked above, I’m pretty sure that picture is from making/testing the model for the 3rd birthday finisher (the simmilarity is too strong, guessing they just went with a different guard in the end, cause the one in the picture was too big), and the new gen sword will look different

I’m giving it a few months and then I’m gonna write a letter to Obama to see if he can do something about this problem.

not saying im not kittened about how long its taking but to be fair, “at regular intervals” just means that the sets will be released with the same amount of time between the releases, not that they will be released in a timely manner
