So I love Gw2 for the casual gameplay that suites me and when i feel like it i can try the harder stuff and feel rewarded when i succed,. However, I only play short sessions because there are some things that is pretty dull (atleast to me) And thats, stats and special effects.

Do you guys think we are gonna see some kind of new stats? Higher? Or new runes or something that changes the way we play to spice things up? Right now i can get exotic geared in 1 min once i hit 80. I know the reason why people like it, to me however it somewhat lacks depth.

But enough of that im just curious if we are gonna see something diffrent with this expansions. Tbh the Reaper is enough to make me buy HoT :P

Dont expect higher stats, they said that our current(Exotic or ascended) will remain as the highest tier.

I hope we get some new stat combinations. Could be interesting. I’m super excited to see what they have in store for challenging group content.

Well, they are making condi builds more viable. They are removing stats from trait lines. Add all that with the new was traits/specializations work and you might want some different gear and try out different builds. But chances are you will settle fairly soon. If you want stat and gear progression, this isn’t your game.

I 100% understand where you are coming from. Myself I play often but only 30 min at a time tops because I see no point or purpose. HoT will be the same game just with a new map and specizalations for me. I don’t do pvp or wvw. I might consider though trying to get a new legendary.

In a way though we have 40 more levels to level up with the new system. Even though it’s just hang gliding and reading another language and killing enemies I still think it’s something to actually achieve. I hate this game has no gear treadmill but at the same time I like it a lot to so that’s why I keep logging back onto gw2. It’s simply the best mmo out right now. Even tops ff14 I think. Crushes wow.

I’m just excited to try some of the new specializations. I don’t think I will like the new zones and I don’t enjoy the PvP in GW2, so I will likely be playing the specializations in old zones and dungeons.
I don’t play a whole lot of GW2, but the “challenging group content” has me very interested. Maybe it will be something that I can sink a dozen hours a week into.

The thing you’re looking for is masteries. They give you more and better skills. It’s something to play for besides higher stats (and I think it’s better than higher stats).

I have 3 level 80 characters so I’ll have lots of things to spend my time to in HoT.I don’t feel the urge to grind and be there first,I’ll simply do it at my own pace and enjoy the journey there.

If you have played GW 1 you should know it’s not about stats or new higher gear tier. It’s not WoW or the classic dumb MMO carrot-mode.

Back when I played Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North, it was mostly for the story and new skins, new skills (something we won’t really have sadly) and all the new stuff. New map to explore etc. It’s refreshing. I remember that I greatly enjoyed Nightfall back when it was released. I suspect it should be the same with HoT, even though I really dislike anything that is Sylvari related. Nature & tree fanboys blablabla is kinda boring. Something involving Charrs or Norns is far more interesting imho.

But from what ive understand, these World masterys or what they where called, seemed more gimicy or some fun little perk lite gliding or something, It didt feel like it had a real impact on your character in how you play him/her etc. Since we didt get more skill slots or whatever to spice things up im curious how this expansion is gonna feel like an expansion and not a big patch. I dunno i want to stick to this game so bad, but there i just that little thing that keeps me from playing long sessions :P

We didnt get more skill slots in GW1 either. We got more skills(Which are getting through elite specs) Just sayin~

As for gliding, if i recall right they said there are parts of the map you wont be able to get to unless you glide there.

Masteries will absolutely open up more content. Opening more content is something to play for.

One would hope that being able to experience new content would be motivation enough. But as far as skinner-boxes go: masteries and very very likely a new host of skins. Also I assume you’ll have a daily grind of champions (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Itzel_Leadership, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Exalted_Purification) for what I imagine will be skins and items.

New profession (Revenant), specializations, masteries, maps, PvP/WvW gamemodes, and story not quite enough for you, eh?

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

I’m looking at that famigerate new competitive PvE, new dungeons (and possibly a rework on old dungeons, like different levels to make it even harder for veteran players), new maps, new way to explore maps, specializzations and changes in traits and skills to make new builds, new fight situations, new spvp and www game strategy.
New armor weapon skins, mobs, storyline, events.

There’s a large amount of things that you will be able to do after the HoT release.
Like wath everyone play as a revenant in spvp with bad builds and bad players, or entire zergs of revenant in www XD
