Well i am playing gw2 about 6-7 months , so i am new in game … With today update i see that multiloot in auric basin has nerfed so thats my thoughts :

If i have understand right , the prices on trading post works with the demand and how easily you can farm the ’’thing’’ that ppl want to buy.
In aurin basin most ppl farm ectoplasm , if i remember right when i start the game the price of ectoplasm was around 60 silver and with time the price goes down , i believe that hapend bcz the quantity of ectoplasm on servers soared.
Logic says that now without the ml on basin the price of ectoplasm will be double or maybe more (with leg armor). Some ppl must have 20k ++ ectoplasm bcz they ‘’saw it coming’’.In my humble opinion this is unfair for some ppl who start the game now or started before one month or will start it in future , and if all this i say is correct bcz as i say i am new on game .. then multiloot no need it a nerf bcz the market adapted all this time on price / demand / quantity of ectoplasms.

You say potato; I say, um, potato.

The economy was no longer a big issue: the market reached equilibrium ages ago, taking into account the abundant source of all sorts of things (not just ecto). The market will similarly reach a new, post-Snake-Head equilibrium (with lower leather prices probably, too).

The big remaining issue was that AB/ML was by far and away the most lucrative method of farming. Because of that, it diverted people from all the other economically important farms and gameplay-important events, including the metas in the other HoT maps.

So whether AB/ML was an exploit or an intended farm, ANet had little choice but to bring it in line with other events.

There’s a non-trivial backlog of ectos people have been sitting on. It might be a few weeks until prices rise in a significant way.

The big question is: do you think that there will be a brief period where folks are happy or will we go straight to the complaints about the sky high prices of Ecto and crying about folks “hoarding” them?
And now that multiloot is gone (RIP) what will the be the next target for the curmudgeonly complainers?

While mystic coins are very hard to obtain and only in very limited quantites mostly via login rewards, ectos can at least be freely obtain about everywhere. Even if you need 250 or 500 for a legendary, you can get there at your pace.

I sincerely doubt that ecto will achieve the pre-Hot price heights. Even with the ABML gone, there’s still a lot more rares to be had than before (for example, remember that tarir is a really rewarding meta even without the multiloot exploit). There are also other limiters on legendary crafting now (Mystic Coins have been mentioned already).

So, no reason to panic. If anything, the change will allow people to spread out to other farms, which will help decrease price of other items, not only ecto.

Per the Q&A, mystic coins are currently healthy:

  • Approximately ten percent more supply than consumption at this point in time.
  • Prices remain stable after multiple serious price manipulation efforts, all of which failed.
  • They provide income for new players, selling to established players who desire cosmetic and luxury items; a high price isn’t necessarily a problem there.

i’m ok with nerfing multiloot, it’s not ok to loot many instances. but now player can loot ONE grand chest or large chest PER DAY, not per event. i think, it’s totally not cool. i love Tarir, i need aurilium, but now i am forced to do meta just once per day. that’s frustrating.

This is going to hurt meta events in the long run, why put int he effort for them when you already got your one chest right?

like said sir above, it mainly hurts people with unusual playtime or the ones who compensate lack of time in the week on weekends. no one gonna do events cuz they already get their chest for today. so, in long term, we are gonna get emptier maps with less peoples who want to do meta, but can’t, cuz comms and more lucky peeps already done it. same goes for other metas if they are getting this fixes too.

That isn’t what they said in the game release notes:

“Players can no longer open more Great Exalted Chests and Grand Exalted Chests by changing map instances after completing the meta-event in Auric Basin.”

I haven’t done the Tarir event since the patch, but according to the notes you should be able to loot all of the chests below Tarir every time you succeed at the event. Not only once per day.

i know. and yesterday i done it twice with my sister. and we got only one chest for first meta and only smalls for second. all grands and larges were opened. then we came back at night and done meta again – and still get only smalls, grands and larges were opened.
if it’s needed to be sayed, we also done lots of pre-events and taken participation in getting tarir. and still got 1 chest for days first meta, then only small ones.

If that’s the case then I agree, it shouldn’t work that way. Once per successful event completion, not once per day!

Yeah, they shouldn’t be daily, and that’s not what they said they would be when they announced the change. Should be once per event.
I guess it’s a bug and need to be reported.

Wrong. AB wasn’t nerfed due to the need of it. At one point, the supply of ecto is so dangerous low that it could have reached 1g, a lot of people argued it wouldn’t but many that argued aren’t TP flippers,in other words, they have no concrete idea of the supply and demand of ectos. AB is then left alone to ensure that ecto pricing don’t reach a costly level. Now, the supply of ecto is ridiculously high which I assume is why anet decide to nerf it.

With this change the ab map is dead and the meta closed for new players. With multi map running for this long, anyone who wanted the achievements and rewards have long since got it. There is no reason to ever go there again.

Like with dungeons, I find that a bit sad. I do a dungeon run like once every second month, but I doubt I will even do that with AB.

Bet me. The same thing happens after a new zone comes out every time. People walk away for a while.

But there are people who enjoy the AB meta and there are people who never multimapped. I don’t think most people did.

So you have a bunch of people that didn’t run that content over and over and even some who have yet to discover it.

You check back in a week and people will be doing the AB meta again.

Hell people still do the TD meta.

To be fair, when MM was a thing, it was nigh-impossible to find a meta map sometimes because people had entry fees for squads.

To reiterate: Entry fees for their MM squads.

I don’t want to pay your lazy bum to get onto a meta map, swindlers. Seen people charge anywhere from two to ten gold for a place in their squad and that…that’s just stupid. Maybe now that all the toxicity around multimap has gone away, AB meta will be enjoyable again.

God, you never saw “SW VW 10g entry fee plz”
Or “Teq Taxi plz pay 5g”
Or if you did, it was hella rare.

^^This. Anet tends to leave these ‘features’ along as long as it doesn’t affect their economy or if players, particularly new players, are getting griefed. Anet finally had to step in when players started griefing the MM map with the stupid entry fees like 2gold to join squad then boot them.

They did the same thing to the queensdale/kessex champ trains. They were fine with it until players started getting griefed for finishing the quests as opposed to letting it fail for bigger reward.

Some people are upset, other people are happy. This happens every time anet does something. You can’t please everyone.
Personally I haven’t been in AB after the nerf, I see no reason to go there anymore. I am however glad to see there are other people who still do the meta so that new people can experience it. Carry on and have fun all

In due time, all will serve the asura.
