Necro Elite Spec Name thread
Backdoorbanditofdeathandedgygore.
Reaper-
F1-F4 are transformations into different creatures to fit different roles.
Reaper, i’m thinking as well. Though ANET loves their Marjory, so maybe something related to her, indirectly. She did coin the ability afterall.
Any high concept names like:
Dragon warlock
Death knight
Dragon wizard
Dragon necro
Dragon sorcerer
Dragon paladin
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
Reaper will be the new name. It fits so well. Banshee fits well if the speculation of shouts is true
main Druid ~~Adalyn Del Rayna~~ [SIGH]

You had a trillion suggestions for the Guardian elite spec to be called Avenger but it’d make far more conceptual sense to call Majory that.
Simply Harbinger could do, the word has an ominous connotation.
If Marjory and Belinda are possible guides:
Soul Leecher
Soul Enchanter
Soul Harvester
(using life force aka souls as a kind of ‘energy’ for your attacks)
Blood Wraith
Envoy (taken by lore)
Wraith
Dark Enchanter (to bring back some of that low budget 1980s flare)
Spirit Keeper
Spirit Binder
Soul Binder
Soul Keeper
Blood Reaper
Reaper
Blood Hunger
Dhuum Shadow
Dhuum Acolyte
Dark Templar
The Not Dragon Hunter >.>
Had to, sry. Ran out. But my guess is that it will have something to do with harvesting souls (redesigned or repurposed life force?) to power attacks.
My god those are all terrible suggestions. Most of those make DragonHunter sound good.
- Phantom
- Banshee
- Spectre
We should go with a theme that is evocative of the Bibical Jesus, Necromancers consider themselves closely associated with being between this world and that next. The origin of Asunriseaway like from our theme song is a more subtle nuanced version of this. Necromancers inflict pain and damage to themselves in order to take the damage away from others. And the Asunriseaway faction believes that taking in the “Heat from the Sun” and damage away in battle would allow their allies to fair better. I understand this is a alot more high concept than Dragonhunter, but at the end of the day we felt like we wanted to try and push a more mature theme here. I hope this helps explain out thinking. We had other generic names in mind but felt like it was important to have a mix spec names that are generic fantasy, more Tyrian Fantasy, and more high concept, The one falls more in the third category.

Stop it. All this “high concept” stuff is hurting my brain.
Or maybe the highest concept, very direct to the point of the expansion, lends to marketing and answers the question “what if professions had elite specializations”?
Introducing the Necromancer’s elite specialization: “Elite Specializationprofession”!
With trait classics such as:
“Minor trait – does something minor!”
“Grand Master III – Makes you a grand master at something!”
And their new utility type, Shouts! The most common and basic, with a twist, as they now make 100% more sense! New shouts such as:
“AHH!” – Because sometimes it makes you feel better!
And a great sword. It’s great!
Good luck out there Elite Specializationprofessions!
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
If it’s a very melee focused I’m guessing Reaper.
If it’s more focused on spirits like some people have been suggesting I’m guessing Spectre.
Banshee. Please be Banshee.
Any high concept names like:
Dragon warlock
Death knight
Dragon wizard
Dragon necro
Dragon sorcerer
Dragon paladin
This LOL
I’d suggest the name Griever.
Appropriate for Marjorie’s mourning of her sister but sounds menacing enough on its’ own. Plus it would fit the spec if they give it banshee styled shouts that sound like someone wailing from grief.
Banshee is a good name but it translates as “Woman from the Barrows”, so it isn’t gender neutral. Otherwise I’m calling my Necromancer a Manshee. Not to mention that Banshee is a little generic and expected while Griever is the same thing but a twist on the concept.
It also has a slight similarity in sound to the word Reaper.
Gollum (because fingers)
And any of those high concept names.
Please be a Reaper!
Simply Harbinger could do, the word has an ominous connotation.
I quite like this name.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.

Please be a Reaper!
I somehow doubt they will go with that. It is already the title you get for reaching rank 70 in pvp. A reaper with the “Reaper” title would look incredibly silly.
Dibs on DARK FIGHTER !
What do I win?
I’d suggest the name Griever.

I like the Griever idea.
But wouldn’t you call yourself a Banhe? Or Banhim? A Manshee just sounds like you’re both genders at the same time.
Necroman/Woman
The
I vote for “Roundup” Based on our enemies that we will be fighting
warlord or warlock
Exactly, it will depend on the enemies. Probably Dragon Killer or Dragon Death.
It will definitely be Voyeur, I’m calling it.
Reaper-
F1-F4 are transformations into different creatures to fit different roles.
I can see this as a Necro / Engi hybrid where Necs get elixirs as utilities and the secondary (toolbelt) versions of the skills give transformations.

Gross and useless. I’m hoping it has some imagination
Oh i’ve got another one :
HellReaver or MistRaiser : Official statement – Like for the Dragon Hunter, we feel that the necromancer deserved a name in the line of the great filmography of the 20th century. And if gardian are obviously set for the heroic adventurers type of film like VanHellsing, Necromancer give more a vib of horror and gore, so we decide that Hellraiser would be our base for this one. We really hope you enjoy it.

I think anything with “Soul” or “Reaper/Reaping” are out, they already have a Soul Reaping specialization, it would just look strange having Soul Reaping and Reaping as two specializations together.
I’d suggest the name Griever.

Lol, you’ve got it backwards, in old Celtic ‘Ban’ means woman, ‘Shee’ (more properly spelled Si) means mound. And I never realized until just now how confusing that is in English. XD
EDIT: Actually I think it would be Fershee, since I know Fergus means Man of Virility, and looking it up it does seem to actually be a real name, albeit uncommon.

That page is glorious. Now if only this raised awareness to the devs regarding the poor state of the necromancer.
