Need Guide to HOT
Hit me up in game. I can show you around. I showing people around the hot zones.
I can give you a link to an informational database I have which I like to call “The Wiki”.
I’ll give you the link… for a small sum of gold. Expenses, you understand.
To be fair, the wiki only works if you know what to look up. It’s not really a great teaching tool, so much as a research tool.
A Guide is what I need, not wikki.
You’re asking for an awful lot of information, which even the most helpful Vayne can’t possibly supply you without days and days of effort. Reading the wiki and having a guide aren’t mutually exclusive. You should at least browse the wiki and let that information sink into your brain, so when Vayne or whoever guides you around it’ll all click – otherwise you’ll be wasting your time (and his) asking basic questions.
Feel free to look me up in game as well. I’m usually up for showing people around the jungle.
Zoltar – Im just asking if anyone knows a Guide. And clearly, wikki isnt. There’s no need for you to comment in this post if you dont know any. If wikki is your only option then i’m sorry, already been there and its not helpful. Bye. (reply not needed)
And, in addition to the two gentlemen who have kindly offered guidance in the jungle, I’d like to offer my assistance if you need help with any jumping puzzles… in the jungle or otherwise. You won’t need the wiki those if you don’t want to. They’re easy enough to explain in chat.
EDIT: In reply to your last post to me (though you may not want it), I wish you luck. I didn’t say the wiki was the only option – I said it was an additional option that adds to the big picture, but how you play is up to you. As you’ve asked, I won’t comment in this thread anymore.
I haven’t really seen a good guide for HoT. Maybe I should write one.
Vayne – Thanks for the heads-up and I totally agree with you. Been googling on how to use the LFG but to no avail. If you can make one with illustrations or videos then I will totally support you. Im new to the game and quite surprised why references are so limited. Guild wars supposedly is a very huge title and franchise yet the community guides is very few.

I gave up googling LFG… can anyone pls answer the questions below?
1. If i join the dungeon LFG once the team is full do i get teleported to the dungeon together with my team? (like WOW?) Or I need to be physically with the team and enter the dungeon entrance with them?
2. Does the 1st question apply to PVP, Raid and etc indicated in the LFG menu? That in-order to join the team is to be with the teams location? and no auto teleportation or warping will happen with the LFG tool.

Greetings, Sir Vayne. I spent $150 on core GW2. You know, back when it didn’t suck. None of the white knights offered to help me then. May I hit you up? Would you show me around Kessex Hills?
Or was it too long ago and doesn’t count.

You have to waypoint to the dungeon map. If someone has already entered the dungeon or when someone does you’ll get a requester that pops up on your screen. Click on “enter explorable mode” or “enter story mode” and you’ll get into that dungeon with that party.
2. For PvP you have to queue in the PvP lobby. Raids you can go to the raid lobby in LA, but I don’t recommend even thinking about raids until you’ve gotten some HOT under your belt. There is no auto teleportation in this game, you always choose to waypoint.

Mm love the smell of passive aggression in the morning.
Dulfy.net has video guides and maps. Go there and look up for instance VB. Get to see where the HP’s, MP’s and things like strongboxes are.

I use mmorpg-life for maps, literally the first thing Google gives me to see the whole map and because it’s interactive I can hover over a vista I want, get its name and then plug that into YouTube to get a video on it.

As to wiki – VB is full of events. Look up the names of the chains, the order they occur in, look for any achievement points you could get for doing them. VB is full of new things you can gather like flax. Look up what they are, what they sell for, where the flax farm is. VB is full of new mobs, you might want to know the difference between a smokescale and a pocket raptor before (or maybe after) they repeatedly kill you.
YouTube – essential resource already mentioned, look up things if they’re not on Dulfy, I sometimes look up things like the 40 minute run round Tangled Depths because there might be a poi and I want to see how it’s reached.
These are things you could do yourself and as a first time player anywhere I’d expect that you would do. As the jungle grows and things are changed, a guide wouldn’t necessarily keep up with all that (anyone else buy the GW2 guide at launch…). Neither will youtube or even dulfy (the SW jumping puzzle is down pre-gliding for instance) but the wiki probably will keep up to date.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
