Here is my question.

When HOT release will “Toughness get buff?” since raid bosses will hit so hard imo(last week I got lots of work so I missed the beta test.

Cause i feel toughness is useless for a long long time

Tougness IS useless.

We could all have 1000 toughness and if raid bosses drop condi bombs then who cares about our precious toughness?

Conditions trump toughness.

Vitality is for Condi.
Toughness is for Power.

Though I do wish toughness scaled better regardless.

I guess it would depend on what build you are trying to run and what enemies you are facing.

If you are in a group an enemy may chase down the player with the highest toughness like the Vale Guardian. Some may target the lowest vitality, or even the player that is furthest away. But to build up toughness, make sure you are equipped for it. Base toughness at level 80 is 1000. I just don’t recall where I read that.

There are 5 armor and weapon stat sets with toughness as the primary attribute: Knights, Cavalier, Nomad, Giver’s, and Settler. There is a selection of traits, runes, and consumables that will increase toughness further.

Couple that with a high vitality and you should be able to live through most fights.

Level 80 characters have around 2k armor (gear armor + base 1k toughness). Adding 1k toughness would reduce direct damage taken by 33%.
Vitality will let you live longer (condi & direct damage), while toughness will let you take more direct damage hits, without affecting incoming heals effectiveness (percentage of health received).
