Nevermore timegate
Selling your stuff for daily craft could get you (or close to) enough money buy the spirit planks
Thanks a bunch, didn’t know that was possible I will do that.

I would check the prizes and if you get enough
Put in buy orders for the planks (you can check recent history on GW2 TP or similar sites; look at the last month’s pricing).
Then, keep doing your daily crafting and sell spiritwood planks each week.
Based on the last 30 days, you could have bought planks for 5g50 and sold for 7g70, which would have resulted in a net profit. Those numbers will vary greatly, so you might easily spend more and receive less, but if you’re careful, the worst case is that you end up spending 30-70 silver extra per plank to rush, depending on your level of patience.
You can also find guildmates that you trust who can do the daily crafting.
Also, remember that you don’t need all 75 at once!
Just wait until you get to the stupid amounts of leather required for something like Astralaria or tiger-tiger bow. :\ Not only time gates, but materials you can’t consistently gather.
Fortunately, money solves all, and dropping 90g on Elonian Leather wasn’t too bad. It hurt, but I have significantly more painful things to grind (Amalgamated Gemstones, Gift of Battle) to worry about gold I get back passively through play. Between dailies and sales of rares, sprockets, quartz, I casually get 3+g per day. And that’s nothin’ compared to what other people make on dungeon speedruns or exploiting the trading post.

All legendaries are “timegated”, if you don’t produce the four ascended ingredients daily by default. That’s why they are legendaries, they aren’t easy to get and cost a lot of materials. That’s the challenge and fun part about them (although I would argue that the actual fun part are the two scavenger hunts included in the “legendary journey”).
I mean it’s not like it’s a legendary weapon or anything. Oh wait.
isn’t 75 days a ridiculous amount of time to force us to craft daily. I have basically everything needed to craft the staff so instead of letting me enjoy the game and actually play it I’m forced to wait for roughly a quarter of a year until I can actually craft my staff. Is there any other way to get the elder glob residue? I’d definitely spend more recources to get it faster.
Yeah, you do have to wait. Or you could buy them on the TP. Or you could ask guildies or friends to make their 1 a day for you as well. I mean you can craft 1 a day. If you havent been doing that then really you are only time gated by your own doing.
I am “That” guy you have all heard about.

That frustration… Know it. I was hoarding mats since 2012, and begun crafting ascended stuff only in 2017 with 1000h+ ingame. 9 days to craft greatsword was to harsh, when I got all the mats. But then I burned through all my mats and now sitting only on steady income of mats from daily play + little bit of iron and soft wood gathering.
Right now I craft every time gated mat daily. At the point of 30+ of each I started to craft things to sell on TP. And you know… really difference between crafting and buying time gated mats is irrelevant. Even with constant flow of mats you would buy a even more of them from TP. So there is no point to wait unless you like to save 1-3g per day.

Buy Spiritwood planks off the TP.
