With the expansion coming out soon, has Anet said if there will be additional character customization options yet? I’m hoping there will be much more in the way of hair styles, facial options, etc.

Sorry if this has been answered already as I’ve been away for about 3 months now and not been keeping up on everything.

I am really hoping Anet will be adding more with the expansion , it really only makes sense , be nice not having to use my total make over kit to re-open the customize to just get a few more face designs.

Just a thought that i keep wondering.

If they add them, they will be in the kits only. If they are in character creation, only new chars (which is more new accounts than veteran accounts) will get them for free. Everyone will still need to use the makeover kit anyway and pay to change the face on old chars.

Sadly no. The current system (i.e. adding new customization options to make over kits) seems to be ANets primary means of expanding character customization. On top of that most of it is just new hair / face options.

Some new options would be nice, and most won’t mind paying a little bit for kits to do it.

Data-mining has revealed new hairstyles and faces are coming. There weren’t any textures, so no previews are available.

Probably That_Shaman. However the last datamining I heard of on this was about 8 months ago.

There was a bug recently that allowed players to actually select and apply some of those new hairstyles. Makeover kits were disabled for a while because of it.
People who applied those new hairstyles still have them from what I hear, anet didn’t forcibly change them back.
No word on if those are actually coming with HoT, but one would easily presume that to be the case.

There will be more.

They will sell them to us on the gem store I’m sure.

I wish we had more options for character creator, or even in the make over kits, stuff like earrings, make up, scars, etc.

It’s good to hear that there will be more hairstyles coming out. I just hope that if you buy the expansion, you won’t have to turn around and buy a kit just to change to the new options. It would be nice if you got 1 free change on each of your characters.
