Q:

With the new fractals coming out, will AR be scaling with them? Currently you need 70 to do anything from 1-50. If it is scaling, will there be a way to outfit yourself with more AR other than just with versatile infusions in your armor and the infused accessories?

My concern is that, because of the prices of the higher level infusions you can place in your accessories may be an inhibitor on people trying to do higher level fractals. It may be a good idea to place stronger versatile infusions in the Fractal npc for sale if this is the case.

Do you really need 70 AR to do level 1, or even level 10? I have no AR whatsoever, but I have done just a few Fractals in the ~10 range, I believe.

I can see needing higher levels of AR for the higher levels of Fractals, though. The Devs will likely explain more about that.

Good luck.

My understanding is that Agony Resistance (AR) mitigates the damage taken from the condition, Agony. Its been a long time since I’ve run a FotM without appropriate AR but as far as I know you don’t need 70 AR to run anything under a 50. For 1-9 you shouldn’t need anything because Agony isn’t introduced in that range. There’s a chart here that tells how much mitigation you will get at a certain fractal level with a specified amount of AR.

I would then assume that when the Fractal level cap is increased, you will need more AR to mitigate the damage from Agony. If that chart was allowed to continue in the same pattern it is currently, it will take 145 AR to mitigate the damage to 1% per tick at level 100.

OP meant you need 70AR to cover the entire span, up to 50 which needs the 70AR.

The answer however is the Agony infusions for Infused gear. This pretty much means Armor will probably get an Infusion tier as well.

Well there’s fractal masteries coming with the expansion. One of the masteries may address that.

EDIT: Well it looks like the fractal mastery system will address that.

Master Fractals: Uncover new depths in the Fractals of the Mists to gain powerful new abilities to overcome difficult fractal challenges, garner greater rewards, and unlock more powerful infusions.
