Dulfy just released a guide on how to create the new guild armours and weapons available through the guild hall. To create these new weapons you need to have level 450 in the coresponding crafting profession and the commendation weapon sold by the commendation vendor in LA. No problems here and I like the concept of the weapons being an ‘upgrade’ to the commendation weapons.

My problem however is that the commendation weapons are soulbound on aquire which means I currently have all my weapons on characters that cannot upgrade them into the new guild hall weapons. And the characters that are able to craft them do not use most of the weapons their crafting discipline creates.

Is it possible to change the commendation weapons form soulbound on aquire to acountbound? Or could someone explain me why they are soulbound on aquire and should stay this way if not possible.

You can put soulbound items into the bank and you can craft with items in your bank. That should work?

What I think he means is that the crafted weapon becomes soulbound to the character who crafted it. So if your weaponsmith is a Guardian and you craft an axe, it will be soulbound to him even though he can’t use it. I haven’t tried crafting guild weapons yet, but making them soulbound on acquire makes no sense. I’d expect ANet to change that once it’s sufficiently brought to their attention.

It is the precursor weapons which are soul bound

The guild weapons are soulbound on use, so buy them on any character, craft the new upgraded guild hall weapons on any character— just don’t USE them on any character except the one they’re intended for.
