Good Evening All, below is an idea I had to create interesting content and improve the social aspects of the game by allowing players to party up for all sorts of interesting fun.
INTERACTIVE TAVERN SYSTEM:
The tavern system is a new addition to the game that promotes social play. There will be a host of new taverns that will open up all across Tyria. Each tavern is an instanced location that functions similarly to a chat room lobby.
There will be a host of tables that players can select to sit at, the interface would look alot like the PvP game selection. Tables can have a max of 5 players each. Players can also start their own tables and give the table a unique name to help others identify and search for it.
The tables allow for all sorts of interesting stuff.
-Players can order or provide food to buff everyone at the table.
-Players can activate minigames that are available from the gemstore that everyone on the table can play (such as card games, golem fights, minipet fights, etc.). One minigame will definitely be starting a barfight.
TABLE NPCS AND ADVENTURES:
Sometimes tables are pre-created by the tavern itself and have random NPCs at them that do a variety of things.
-Lore NPCS: Tell the players a voiced story about Tyria’s past.
-Adventure NPCS: Have specific quests that teleport the players and the NPC to an open world location to start a unique dynamic event. An example might be a Pact Commander who sends the players to Orr. Other examples might include well known lore characters like Braham who might ask for help on a hunt. Once an event starts, other players on the open world map can join in.
-Challenge NPCS: Create an instanced boss encounter for the party, such as the sword master Bongo One-Eye, who will challenge the party to a duel at an instanced location for special rewards.
RELICS:
Other than the precreated NPC tables at the tavern, players can also bring relic items to the tavern table. Relics are consumable items that start a specific adventure, tell a lore story, or activate a challenge without the need of a random tavern NPC. An example might be an old lamp that summons a Djnn boss and teleports the group to an instanced location to fight it. Another could be a branded shard that begins a dynamic event in the fields of ruin. Once a relic is activated, all of the players at the table have to confirm in order for the effect to take place.
ROLEPLAYERS:
The tavern system also allows roleplayers to have a place or their own tables to share their adventures. Special emotes from the gemstore can be bought as well to enhance the tavern experience. Musical instruments can also be played at the tavern tables.
