New legendary effects
I don’t care for the effect of the new legendaries mutating the arm. I’d rather see my armor. I much prefer the auras that we have with the current legendary weapons.
Thus the new ones are a no go for me at this time.
I like the look for Nevermore and H.O.P.E., but I’ll have to see more of Astralaria’s effect to decide if it’s too much or not.
Hi there. So Anet has debuted 3 of the new legendary weapons including pics of them being wielded. I noticed that in every single shot of them being wielded though all of the arms had transformations (i.e. the raven staff covers your arm in feathers, the pistol wreathes your arm in energy, and the axe transforms your arm into a starry sky). I know that at least a couple of the current legendary weapons have those same effects, but not all of them. I wondered if Anet was going to add any existing updates to weapons that currently don’t have the effect (currently using the Dreamer, and who wouldn’t love a rainbow arm?). Thanks for taking the time to read this, and respond for anyone who does.
I imagine that improving the older legendaries would be an issue that’s pretty low on the docket. Minstrel, for example, still really needs a graphical update to bring it in line with other legendaries. Howler, for another example, is still broken… for something like 2 years now. However, right now their focus is rightly on making new legendaries. I imagine a fix or improvements for weapons like Dreamer won’t be happening anytime soon… Sorry.
What about NO?
I prefer to see my character’s arm instead of some fancy effect that never match with my outfit.
I hope they don’t add the effect to any of the old legendaries.
Any time they change a legendary, they run the risk of upsetting people who have poured a considerable amount of time and resources into getting the weapon as it was when they got it. Even a little thing like adding some particles or flashy footsteps is probably going to irritate someone who liked how understated their weapon of choice was. The more noticeable the change (changing The Dreamer’s sound effects, for instance,) the more you rock the boat.
Should they ever rock the boat? Occasionally, carefully. But I think adding an extremely noticeable effect like this one should be reserved for new weapons.

Which current ones have those effects?
Which current ones have those effects?
If im not mistaken, frostfang (coats the arm wielding it in ice) and Incinerator (Flame coils around the arm)

Rodgort also sets your arm on fire (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rodgort)
Frostfang’s effect is very very understated compared to these new ones. I mean, making your arm see through and turn into energy? Kinda ridiculous IMO.
Give me understated or NO changes to my arms, the only one I like that does this is Juggernaut because it alters your ENTIRE armor so you still match.

Current ones really only coat the wrist/forearm, not the entire arm.
Frostfang for example only covers the wrist and front half of the forearm.
Only one that does more than that is Juggernaut, really. And Kraitkin would if it wasn’t broken as it has been for who-knows-how-long where its night version doesn’t show ever.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Old legendaries should be left as they are.
