To be totally honest, the current pets players can have are, to put it bluntly, uncool. Dogs, cats, birds, bugs, lizards and bears. How bout a friggin Teragriff? Now that’s a beast.
On that note, I know mounts aren’t Guild Wars’ thing, but it’d be totally awesome for Rangers to have this class specific pet-mounting skill. Like, imagine a “tier” of pets which are mountable, and mounting them would be an elite skill. While mounted, you gain bonus passives (Precision, atk/movement speed increase). Also, mounting your pet is only possible if the Ranger is equipping a bow. This way, there’s more incentive to using a bow Ranger. It gives Ranger’s that feeling of “class expertise”, a feeling that I believe has been lost with the fact that a warrior can also wield a longbow.
I know this’ll probably never happen, but it’s just a fun way to liven up the system. It doesn’t make the class suddenly overpowered, as it would just grant passives that can already be gained via other elite skills. All it does (for the most part) is add some pizzazz to the Ranger/pet dynamic.
