Sounds hectic, right? Well here’s the thing. We all know how condition warfare is botched in pve boss encounters, unless you’re in a small group that knows what it’s doing. And that’s a horse that’s been beaten to burgers now.

What has not been addressed as far as i know, and is a thorn in my side, is how direct damage gets all those % boosts not only via traits but also via boss mechanics. When you manage to knock wyvern out of air your damage triples. Wanna bet it’s just your direct damage that triples? I sincerely hope a-net won’t forget about condis and that gets 3x boost too.

Please don’t forget to include condi damage for any spikey damage opportunities when fighting the bosses

Oh and….kicks dead horse …fix that condi cap in pve boss encounters…

Yeah that seems unlikely… they can’t even fix the existing conditions, I can’t image they will have all new functionality for conditions…

I know personally I love fighting teq on my condi character… when he is stunned I do a wopping 300dps… Pretty sure my ele hits 30,000 dps, but hey, 300 is good too…

here’s a wild idea for pve only, increase the cap to 100 for damaging stacking conditions and make unstackable ones player tracked or make them to also stack in intensity.

I’d like to add to this, add crits that actually matter on condi damage to PVE that should help the condi builds as well. It might have even helped in PVE open world boss fights had crits been a thing in the first place.

I think in HoT, they will pull out a few tricks they’ve sneaked into previous areas like The Silverwastes when it comes to conditions, like, lots of mobs that have the “weak to conditions” treat, like Mordrem Husk Copper.

On a side note, have any of the people that attended PAX East spotted any interesting condi mechanics in the demo? I don’t get to play it until Saturday at Rezzed.

That would be cool, but even with what exists now it doesn’t stop a lot of the core problems.

The condition cap is still there, and someone with no codi damage can override your better ones.

Plus, I’m almost positive the “weak to conditions” is rather just “I have lots of armor.” My zerker ele friend still can still match my damage outside of my condi bursts, which takes forever [with respect to how long the enemy lasts] to set up (stupid adrenaline drain). Their main fix was just to include more mobs spread out with spread out objectives, making it less likely that the caps are reached (though 1-2 people can still reach said caps).

Honestly with the new changes elsewhere, why not relook at conditions. If we could have personal stacks at the cost of not having them update every second with our current might, I’d almost prefer that. At least I know my burns/bleeds are actually doing something. At the same time I know it would be abused to the fullest, which is why it will never happen.
