New dungeons?
the game NEEDS new dungeons.
it is obvious that the PvE player base is much bigger than pvp\wvw player base.
and most of that player base are players that does dungeons more than anything else.
Not having new dungeons would be a deal-breaker for me
If ArenaNet wants to put in new dungeons, they need to look at the problems in current dungeons, and iron them out of the new ones.
STACKING – Stacking just ruins the game and makes it boring. I want to actually fight a monster, not feel obligated to stand in a corner to avoid getting kicked from my own party. Maybe new monsters have a buff that increases their damage when they’re attacking a player that is close proximity to another player.
BERSERKER – ArenaNet needs to introduce monsters that are powerful enough to kill people in Berserker with ease, so people are forced to use other armour sets.
Corner stacking is so 2014, there is like only a really handful of situation where that is beneficial. But then again pugs are always slow with adapting to changes.
Beserker being meta is fine, risk and reward. Other set shouldn’t kill fast given how easy it is for them to survive. Also no matter how powerful you make mobs hit, zerker will always be optimal. I mean people go full zerk in fractal 50 as thiefs when anything can one shot you.

THANK YOU. Had too many people so hellbent on stacking even to the point of wiping because all the aoe was being focused, yknow, on our stack.
I honestly think anet’s design chops shine in their dungeons/fractals, when you don’t have the Zerg and mob mentality to worry about, and can really make some interesting bosses and puzzles. I hope we get more content like this with HoT,
Let’s put it like this. If the new dungeons are easy, people will complain that they are not good enough. If the dungeons are too hard/challenging/require effort, people will not play them.
None plays Arah neither the Aetherblade path. Do you know why? because these paths are a bit harder and would require time and in some cases teamwork. People simply will not put the effort to achieve that when the rewards aren’t statsifying. And as GW2’s reward system is focused on rewarding players regardless of their skill, I doubt they are going to change and therefore I doubt they are going to add extra dungeons.
There is a possibility of a new dungeon with the new zones though.

No, they didn’t mention dungeons exclusively. However, they did mention challenging group content. That could also potentially include dungeons.
Not to mention I can’t see Mordemoth being an open world event.

Dungeons are not a new feature however unlike the other things they mentioned. In addition, as said, ‘challenging group content’ has been mentioned.

I don’t know why you’d say that most pve players run dungeons more than anything else, where’s your source for this?
I don’t think we’ll see any new dungeons this expansion. They would have said it if we were getting some.

You call it hiding, I don’t see it that way. They haven’t announced a lot details, that doesn’t mean they aren’t included.
If I were to choose between a new dungeon similar to those we already have or no new dungeons, I would choose no new dungeons.
Dungeons in gw2 are nowhere close to the those great ones for Gw1. No wonder though, if they decide to dismiss the guy responsible for cool dungeons in Gw1 like Urgoz, Slaver’s Exile or The Deep.
The only “dungeon” worth talking about is FotM, the rest is just for no-fun speed farming.
I wish ppl could wake up once and for all.
They even wanted to get rid of the dungeon’s forum section, seriously…
They do not want to implement a new dungeon trying to let it pass such as:
‘’We develop alternatives conceptual ways to do our own MMO" lol…
Anet releasing this expansion only because NCSoft is pushing them.
If you’re lucky they will copy-paste some ’’temporary’’ content and give you couple fractals, and that’s about it…

The promo page says “Tackle challenging group content”.
Sure, it doesn’t say in big bold letters “new dungeons”, but it doesn’t exclude them either.

I don’t think there will be new dungeons unfortunately.
However I do recall past interviews where they have seemed quite keen on introducing raid-like instances. So it might be that we just have dungeons in a different format.

As long as i would love to play new dungeons, i think challenging group content means new open world bosses, maybe there are dungeons but as we have them in living story not like the old ones.
Plus i think they mentioned fractals for some new additions, again i doubt they will add new maps and stuff.
I’m expecting “challenging group content” To be along the lines of “raid-like” guild missions to be honest.
Thinking something stronghold-like involving the guild hall as a possibility.
As for the mordi fight, who knows? That’d make an awesome guild mission/raid too.
