New game, same worst profession
I had a lot of fun playing druid, I like the style, the sound effects etc. For me such stuff is sometimes more important than how good the class is. It’s not that bad. None of those nerfs hit me, since I don’t play PvP and it seems it was OP and nerfed too hard then.
So my advice: try it out, don’t be a crybaby and overpathetic like all those whiners, just play the game, you don’t always have to be the best and most effective to have fun.
Oh and wrong thread, this belongs to the ranger forum.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I totally agree with the OP. Gets really old being the red-headed step-child. nerf after nerf, is all we’ve had. Why is everything balanced around PVP anyway?
Besides, when do devs even bother to read the ranger forum? Let alone respond. Irenio tries, but I’m guessing other devs say “No, Rangers/Druids cannot have nice things” Pish Posh!!!!!
They really do hate rangers, no other way to explain it.
I honestly don’t know why they bothered to make us an “elite” spec, except maybe just as a sort of placeholder, an OCD “they all have to have one” kind of thing.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
1st) Mascot of HoT? I disagree, pretty sure that Revenant is.
2nd) MOST of my guild is super excited for Druids place in RAIDS! Druids have the best healing potential in the entire game. Watch them be sought out after for raids.

If there is any mascot elite spec, and not profession like OP said, it’s the druid. It has by far the most relevance the the region we explore in Hot. By. Far.
If the druid ends up being sought after in one area of one game mode, it’s an utter failure. If the druid was made simply with raids in mind, it is an utter failure. I’m not saying it is and will be, I’m saying that potential raid usefulness means nothing when we’re talking about an entire traitline.

Rubi Bayer suggested in one of the POIs leading up to the HoT release that they’re saving the HoT mascot Espec reveal till last. Makes sense since Druid + HoT both = nature. But w/e that’s a minor debate.
I’ll be keeping an eye to see how raids develop. As it stands, Druids are generally pretty squishy (unless healing power is sacrificed to some extent for toughness/vit) and incredibly susceptible to burst damage, and can die in an instant if not absolutely on-point with heals, to the extent of predictive healing before you’ve even been damaged. No idea how this will affect performance in Raids. Also there’s the prospect that other professions after a while will get used to Raids and how they function, so will we see other professions like the rev and ele, who have better DPS than the druid but healing capabilities that aren’t far off, displace the need for Druids in Raids in the future?
Well TBH, Druids would only be useful for Raids with their healing. Open world, Druids are not really useful, everyone can self-sustain, however, what druids can bring, and what I’ve been running for Open World, is CCs.
I’m basically running a Berserker Druid for Open World PvE, because firstly, I get 33% movement speed traited, and I can also slot two Glyphs that does CC, on top of Longbow #4, Axe #4, and Astral Mode #3 – so you can see that we have quick and instance access to 6 really good CC straight off the bat. Great for bosses with breakbar requirements.
Don’t like autoattack animation, it’s sound and beam and mechanics, the else is somewhat ok though

Sounding like a submarine whenever I fire my autoattack is a little annoying yeah :p

Unfortunately with the change in direction and the adding of raids (with more mechanics) someone was going to be sacrificed to the trinity and when you’ve already run out of ideas with the base profession it was easy to see who’d get singled out.
We’ve been pigeon holed into a incredibly specific role and unfortunately for people like myself, this spec couldn’t have been further away from any Ranger archetype I’ve played or continue to look to play in other games. Not to mention it has got to be the most unimaginative spec so far.
I must be playing another druid because mine is awesome and I hardly ever die when playing it. What is so bad about it?
This isnt fair… dont take all the glory and make us necros look better than we are. We are still as useful as a empty toilet roll in a festival portable toilet.
Please at least say joint worsed professions.

You are :P Except Reaper is really fun to play.
Druid has a crappy mechanic with crappy uptime.
Druid doesn’t feel like a druid at all. It is an astromancer with one or two skills on the staff that are sort of nature.
Druid is useless in most all of the content, and as long as raids are not available what is it good for being maybe useful there.
The concept of a druid in GW2 is pretty much a total fail. And I was so looking forward to it when they first announced the elite spec…

Hey at least you’re a part of GWEN.
Druids are fine in pvp. I’ve been doing well with mine.
Rather than whine about nerfs we should try and get bugs fixed. for example SoW doesnt work with druid for some reason.

Unless it’s a bug that helps us (shortbow a while back) it will be broken for a while, hey kinda like pets.
400% nerf to Lingering Light, good start today.
Pretty sure necro was worse than ranger, Ranger did more dps and frost spirit was better for teams than anything necro brought to the table.Ranger might be worse now but it wasn’t before HOT

try scrapper then you might reconsider on whos the worst
