Q:

“I am a(n) {elite spec} specializing in {Spec #2}, and {Spec #3}. i.e., I am a druid specializing in Nature Magic and Skirmishing.”

Does this mean druids and new elite specs in general will have only 2 trait lines(nature magic and skirmishing) opposed to rangers having 3 or does it mean nature magic and druid are separate trait lines and every class will in fact get 2 new trait lines?

A:

Currently, it looks like the elite spec that makes ranger into druid is a spec line. So if you’re a druid, you’ll have the Druid line and then Nature Magic and Skirmishing. Still 3 lines. We do not know if the druid line will replace a line that rangers have or if using an elite spec means you’ll have all 5 regular lines to still choose from. My money is on the former.

No, it means the druid in the example has 3 trait lines, namely: 1) Nature Magic, 2) Skirmishing and 3) Druidism (or whatever it’s name will be).

It’s just a difference in how they are communicating their builds. Instead of saying:

I’m a [base profession, ex: ranger] with [elite spec] , [spec #2], and [spec #3]

they say,

I’m a [elite spec, ex: druid] with [spec #2] and [spec #3].

Same thing, they just want the elite spec to “feel” like a different profession altogether.
