No Druid on BWE 2?
I think at this point there is no hope for Druid to be good.
it’s really disapointing considering that the ranger is my favorite class, and i was looking forward to the Druid but this just slowly kills any hope i had for druid being actually really good.
Don’t forget that the engineer’s elite “Forge” also won’t be in that BWE.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You’re assuming that because the druid hasn’t been announced yet it will suck. On what logic are you connecting those facts into that conclusion?
Somebody has to be last.
Druid and Forge were the first revealed specs (from the first trailer), so the collateral effect is inferior.
They’ll be in BW3.
In the BWE2 announcement the following is said:
we look forward to sharing the expanded version of the night experience in future beta events.
This implies that there are still multiple beta events to come.

I guess the logic for some people is that elite specs which are announced later will be tested less because they will be available in fewer beta events.
It won’t be announced in time

For me, Druid is the make it or break it class for GW2, if they drop the ball I’m not purchasing the xpac and will probably say my goodbyes with GW2.
So if it takes them more time to fine tune and make it worth playing, I’m willing to wait.
OP, the ranger class in general has had a ton of feedback in 3 years. Anet hasn’t bothered with ranger feedback at all.
Druid would be no different.
Honestly speaking, switch classes. I did it months ago (ranger was main, now its Ele)
I don’t regret it.
I enjoyed ranger, I really wanted to like it, but I gave up on it, just like anet did.

I main Ele for group play and Ranger for Solo/Havok. The Tempest was very VERY disappointing. So I’m praying they get the Druid right, if not, no point in purchasing the xpac, for me at least.

Theres better classes for solo/havoc. Try them out, trust me.
Ya i’m still waiting on druid too before I fully hit the delete button… ranger is the only class that I made for ascended armors/weapons for and right now, its all been useless because of how utterly trash tier ranger has been for me….I regret so much.
I actually enjoy the Ranger for Solo/Havok. It’s not because it’s the most OP or most optimal, I just find it enjoyable, but only in a small scale environment.

More power to you lol. I’m glad some people like it hehe
That is the one area that ranger is above avg in… solo play…but this is an MMORPG… I ENJOY playing with guildies/friends…. in which case, ranger is one of the least useful in group situations…
I don’t think anybody at Anet ever played a ranger.
It’ll be fine. Everything will get tested enough before release. As they have also stated is adjustments will continue even after HoT is live. Nothing is ever set in stone.
Yes I’m sure anet doesn’t care a whit about the ranger. Probably made it just to tell you people

Yes, and that’s particularly odd because that would only make sense if they planned on stopping developing and adjusting the elite specs after HoT launches. Balancing and development will continue after launch (weeks and months of post launch data from the entire player base will be a lot more useful than a couple of weekends with a fraction of it).
It also ignores the fact that the other specs will already have been tuned and tweaked after the first two BWEs (especially Mesmer, Elementalist and Necromancer) so the team will be able to concentrate more on Druid and Forge when they are added in BWE three.
I think drama and nursing hurt feelings is more important than logic to a lot of the people on these forums.
From a Hype point of view, it kind of makes sense to leave these two classes for last. I’m not going to pretend to know a whole lot about PvE because I don’t do PvE, but from a WvW standpoint (these are the players needing the most convincing on why they need to purchase the xpac as we get pretty much everything we need except specialization without purchase) Engi & Ranger are the two classes that really don’t have a solid role in organized WvW. So they save them for last because they are the two classes that people are probably most interested in seeing what they have done for them.
Once again, when do you think the expac is coming out? Columbus Day? Any prediction before Halloween is a pipe dream. So druid and forge will get at least one bwe
Crystal Desert
The reason why players are upset about this is because Engineer and Ranger will get less feedback overall for their Elite specs before HoT goes live, and that coupled with Anet’s historically sluggish and sometimes nonsensical fixes and “balancing” passes means that whatever bugs/imbalances don’t get fixed before HoT will probably persist for quite a while. Broken classes attract fewer players (and Engineer is, I think, already the least played class) and lowers the class priority even further.
I understand that Forge and Druid are probably not finished yet, but that’s not the players’ fault- Anet allowed them to lag behind the development of the other classes and that’s going to be detrimental to them in the long run. In the unlikely event that either of them is grossly overpowered, it will be detrimental to everyone else, too.

considering Arena Net confirmed Heart of Thorns will launch in 2015, the longer they take to announce certain content, the less time we have to test them in Beta events and give our feedback.
The trend has been majority of the new elites and the new class rev have been very underwhelming and needs lots of changes ect, so people are worried the other content will follow the same trend but with less time to test/feedback.
It’ll be fine. Everything will get tested enough before release. As they have also stated is adjustments will continue even after HoT is live. Nothing is ever set in stone.
That’s true but no one wants to shell out $$$ for a expansion to have underwhelming content released when it goes live, totally defeats the purpose of alpha and beta testing. Nothing will be perfect of course but people want to feel good about their expansion purchases and have a good launch of the game.
Don’t you mean BWE 2.3? BWE 2.2 already passed.
I’d say the total number of BWEs is a big factor. if we only get 3, then some specs (chrono, DH, reaper) will be getting 3 times as much testing as others (druid, forge), but if we get a bunch more BWEs, then that number shrinks a fair bit.

The elites aren’t the only thing to the expansion though. Easy to forget this but there are many things we should be testing. Not just our favorite classes. ^.^
But anyway~ assuming it’s going to not be enough testing time when we don’t know how many betas we have left is just being pessimistic, yeah? We could have a December release for all we know. And they could very well start having bwe every weekend if they needed. Ya never know!
My feelings about Engi and Ranger being last is because . . . they are going to be amazing. The saying “Save the best for last” I have this hunch they took the most time to create. Especially since we knew about them before anything else.
So I hope people don’t worry too much. (PS – I am eager to get my hands on Druid too. Patience is a virtue that I had to obtain during all the teasers >.>)

I see that you are quite a new player (at least in the account you are posting), so my suggestion is to lower your expectation by a lot when dealing with those classes, it will prevent a lot of hurt later.
All I’m hoping for Druid is to make us a desirable option (not need to be the best) for at least 1 game mode (PvE, PvP or WvW)
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The reason people are upset is not because we won’t play them on this next beta, it is because they will be left behind in terms of feedback, and for those with the “They will probably fix it after the Xpac launch” argument, they clearly haven’t played ranger and know how we had to struggle with a broken pet mechanic in terms of Ai, and other serious bugs since the original launch of this game and why should we buy a product when our preference of play is quite underwhelmed? that is not a good impression you want to leave on players, either new or veterans.

I celebrate my 3rd birthday April of next year. And that’s only because I deleted my original first characters. If my optimism makes me sound like I’m new then I’m glad. Too much negativity rolls around on the forums anymore.
Anyway, I’m pretty positive that it’ll be something fun to play if the data mining is correct. What I’ve seen so far looks interesting. My expectations though ehhh. The only one I had some for was Dragon Hunter. But that’s a discussion for another thread. xD

I assumed that you were new because the oldest post you have is from 1 month ago.
I also like the data-mined druid info, aspect and glyph sounds promising, but still I hope that we don’t suck , if we ended being good at something it will be amazing and above my expectations.

Logic? There is no logic here this is a QQ thread son, it’s just “I DIDN’T GET THE THING I WANTED SO IT MUST BE BAD BECAUSE REASONS”
Logically
1) we don’t know when HoT is coming out and probably will have more than enough time to test all of the elite specs at least once
2) The ones shown during the demo were probably the most finished at the time, and probably have gotten and will get the most internal testing.
3) I’m pretty sure druid is gonna be lame no matter what, but there’s still hope for hammer engie
4) In addition to engie and ranger, thiefs also aren’t going to get their elite spec in the next BWE as far as i know.
So basically, this is just a pointless plea for information or something about the as of yet unannounced specs, and they assume that because we don’t know anything the developers also don’t either, because god forbid a game developer want to surprise us with some cool stuff and maybe not let things out until they’re ready.

thief is getting their spec next weekend, they just haven’t said what it’s called.
As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.
If BW3 is the last beta weekend I wouldn’t be surprised if Anet only made Druid & Forge available. I also believe that once the devs are finished with the other specs, it’ll be all hands on deck for the last two.

I was a bit kitteno start posting because I tend to be more often silly and >.> get infractions due to people being sensitive. xD
I’m dying to know what aspects is going to be like. What glyphs entail. Soon as its up for testing I’m grabbing my energy drinks and I wont let gooo! xD
