Guild Wars 2

I have used 3 different emails and have not received a confirmation email. Yes, I checked spam. Also have a friend who signed up and he didn’t get an email either. Is there a known problem? Anyway to know if i’m subscribed?

It’ll depend on what email provider you used. Yahoo, I found, is horrible for outright blocking emails from Guild Wars, ArenaNet, and others. Switched to Gmail, no issues at all.

I think what he’s referring to is, after signing up for the HoT newsletter, an e-mail is received with a link that says:

“Click the link below to automatically confirm your subscription to the Guild Wars 2 Email List:
Confirm Your Subscription
You have 30 days to submit your confirmation.”

But after clicking the “Confirm Your Subscription” link it simply redirects straight to the GW2 main page: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/

There is no confirmation page or e-mail that actually says anything along the lines of “Congratulations, you are successfully subscribed to the GW2: HoT Newsletter.”

Really? Wasn’t even aware I needed to get a confirmation mail. I subscribed to the HoT newsletter 3 days ago and never got a mail, didn’t think I needed too.

Great… just my luck. Getting a portal, still not able to enter the beta because that newsletter doesn’t work…

You don’t need an email to enter the Beta, after obtaining a Portal Stone. The only thing you will receive in the email is information, i.e., time, duration, etc.

I’m sure the information will be all over the forums, and elsewhere, as well.

The beta FAQ seems to imply it though.

Yes! You’ll be able to access the beta, and as long as you sign up for the newsletter before the event starts, you’ll receive your e-mail invitation with the details. Make sure you sign up using the same e-mail address that you use for your game account.

Beta invitations that are sent through the mail are mentioned several times.

‘We’ve been asked about whether you must be a newsletter subscriber to get access to the beta test. Signing up for the newsletter is not required to be given access to the beta test. However, to get beta schedules, instructions on how to access the test, or any other beta-related information, you will need to sign up for the newsletter’.
