No pre-purchase but buying expansion
The Leveling & Open World Compendium
This is enlightening. Didn’t know there is such a huge difference in profit for them from their online store, and retail versions sold by 3rd parties. Now i’ll think twice where to purchase my copy when i feel like getting it.
Not pre-purchasing makes sense in and of itself anyway…
Would you like to spend 50 bucks now to have an expansion somewhere down the line?Or would you rather have 50 bucks now to spend on whatever can give you immediate benefit now and then spend another 50 bucks on the expansion when it’s released, again for immediate benefit?
Spend your money on value rather than on promises.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.

First time in history of GW that I’ve failed to get a head start… and I’m not going to regret anything since I’ll be on the sidelines until ANet/NCSoft figures out how to treat all players equally. It makes no difference if I’m new or existing players. If the company you’re supporting only cares for one type of customers, then why should you support them?

also funny thing is, once you buy the game, you stop being a “new player”, so come next release it’s your turn to be screwed (along with everyone else)
people should ask themselves whether they want to be customers of a company that treats their user base like they are second rate
The only true way to protest against anets treatment is to not buy the heart of thorns expansion at all.
you miss all the content from heart of thorns that way, but it gets the message across. buying the expansion is still rewarding arenanet for their behaviour, it’s going back on the protest.
I won’t be pre-purchasing because i just think that pre-order deals are ruining the industry and are extremely anti-consumer. publishers are asking us to trust them that everything they said is happening will be given on launch and to give them money as a sign of trust, with a bonus if you do.
No, i will not trust anyone until i’ve seen the package reviewed first. if you dislike what’s going on with this HoT deal, don’t reward them by buying the heart of thorns expansion, even on release. They still get the money either way and that’s not punishing them at all.
