Guild Wars 2

I am seriously let down. Each time they show this mastery system, it seems they focus on silly little gimmicks like hang gliding to talk about. Focus on what made this game great; amazing dynamic events and super fun combat. I don’t even think ill buy the game, and that’s saying a lot b/c i was a DIE HARD GW2 fan for the first year. I just feel like this expansion is more of the same from the last year or gw2. And its been a boring year. This coming from a past fan boy. Please don’t post after this telling me “you are wrong and it is awesome” b/c that is just a matter of opinion. My opinion is that they should have went north to Ice Dragon or over to Cantha/Elona….

Did you play any of the betas?

We already know new dynamic events are coming into the game. Why in the world would they talk about a system already implemented. They discussed mastery system because it is a new thing coming with HoT.

In my opinion I am glad they went into the jungle.

I think gliding and jumping mushrooms add immensely to the game. Sorry you don’t like it but a lot of people do seem to really like gliding.

I love the masteries. There are plenty that don’t address gliding. But gliding alone is very. very. very. fun!

Its nice to see someone does. Oh and dont say that fall off happens in all mmos b/c its not the same. This game numbers are scary low.

If you didn’t try a beta, wait till you try the gliding before you have an opinion on it. It’s not a “silly little gimmick.” It opens the map up to you like never before and quickly becomes an important aspect of travel in the zone.

By the way, source on the game numbers being scary low, since it seems you have access to those.

Let me know when you get an actual figure on the avg daily concurrent players logged in. That is the only way to prove the bolded part….

Obviously its decreased, every game decreases in population.

All games, regardless of genre, have more players at launch than do 3 years later. Always. Some people decide that they just don’t like the game or they’ve gotten everything they want out of it. Nothing any game company can do can keep 100% player retention.

So saying that the numbers are down is pointless.

Especially seeing how this game was advertised as one you could put down and not play for awhile and come back later to see what’s changed. Maybe some are just simply doing that. Taking a break.

Listen, I was very excited about the game before having played it pre-launch just from things i saw with my eyes. I’m not impressed. Its just way for them to go back on the “no flying mounts, it kills scale”. Again, people are going to like it. I’m sure the majority of people that care enough to get on the forums and waste their time here are among them. I myself am not among them.

No I left long ago. I come back for 15 minutes here and there in the hopes that it will entertain me. It does not. Hang Gliding (pfft) isn’t what the game is lacking. It lacks cowbell more than it lacks hang gliding.

5) has opinions that he tries to pass off as fact (population is “scary low”)

You should post them so we can all get on the same page.

RE: Gliders I’m just worried they’re gonna end up like the aspects; difficult to control with any amount of latency and sometimes buggy/glitchy,
otherwise, I am cautiously optimistic about the expansion, if a bit shocked by the price of the thing.

Gliding is pretty sweet. Have you played the beta? It is waaaay more fun and useful than you would think.

Well I happened to have just checked the numbers site, and it shows GW2 concurrent population higher than WoW by millions. I’m serious! If you don’t believe me, check the numbers, OP, it’s crazy!

The key difference between both games is, with no monthly fee, nobody playing GW2 feels like they must play this game constantly for it to be worth it. People can take breaks from this game and enjoy it at their leisure.

I remember my days of WoW. I absolutely had to get my dungeons and raids in every week because it would be a waste of money not to. Glad those days are over too.
