We ordered the pre-purchase HoT from Amazon. Maybe I misunderstood the whole thing, but the FAQ on the official website for Arenanet say that you log into your account, enter the code and you should then have the whole thing. But where are you supposed to enter this code? I’ve opened my GW2 account and gone through everything there, logged into the game and nope, there’s nothing there. I made a search of the website again, but there’s nothing there to say where you enter the code.

I think you do it through the gem store.

• Log in
• Open the Black Lion Trading Company window
• Go to the Gem Store tab
• Click ‘Redeem Code’ in the top left
• Click ‘Redeem, Item Code’ at the bottom of the new window
• Enter your code
• Click ‘Redeem’

Go to: https://register.arena.net
Sign in on the top right
Press the add code button.
Add code.

The first option is for gem codes, that’s why you have to push the ‘redeem item code’ button first. I’m not completely sure it works for HoT (I bought it in-game so I didn’t get a code) but it’s how you redeem codes for things like the mini llama and Mr Sparkles.

Definitely the ‘Register’ site is the easiest and best way to do it. Then, if you wish, you can go in-game and chose another version if you want.
