I was wondering I understand they said that the Revenant wouldnt be able to go back into the original gw2 content due to restraints and mechanics. But will our characters from gw2 going to be able to continue into the new expansion. Like if my warrior is 100 % complete in the original gw2 content will I be able to use them in the new expansion or will I have to create a whole new bunch of characters?

Think about this little puzzle how would the new class level up without a new starting zone. (there is no new starting zone). I am sure you are smart enough for put 2 and 2 together.

think about it for one second HoT is a set of level 80 zones of some unknown number

how would a reverent be able to level if it couldn’t play in “old tyria”

Can we get the source of this? I don’t recall them saying that the Revenants wouldn’t be able to go into non-H.o.T. maps.

New characters will level up as normal through all normal ways. I believe they referred to the beta and stress tests as to not mix players with unreleased content into the base game.

Think about it.

They said they would start as level one chars in their racial starter instances.

Professions do not have their own starting zones. A character’s starting zone is determined by the race that was selected.

They can level up the old way or a fast way and they will have the old personal story that is tied to their race.

This. It was about not mixing beta advances with live progression. Revenants will absolutely be playable in old areas. I seldom state anything as 100% certain (or try not to, it’s the lawyer in me, always with the caveats), but I’m entirely sure on this point.
