@Belenwyn:
Have you looked into the canges to engineers inventions and explosives line? Our bomb-on-dodge will get a trait to become a blast-finisher.
Our elite kit (mortar) potentially has blast-finisher as auto-attacks. (and the mortar itself already comes with a healing field)
In inventions we get a trait that allows ALL our blast-finishers to heal allies. (master in inventions)
We will clear 1 condi by default when using a healing skill (+the 2 from healing turret itself). (minor in inventions)
We will stack regen (not that we didn’t already had perma-regen) for each cleared condi on us and allies, (minor in inventions)
and here comes the overkill:
We get a trait that heals allies for a fixed percentage of ALL heals we receive. (grandmaster in inventions)Run this with sigils of water & benevolence + monk runes in cleric or settlers gear and you have one hell of of a healing powerhouse…
Wouldn’t surprise me if they tweak the numbers to make bloodmagic necros a thing as well, since they already announced the implementation of vampiric aura anyways.
Whats this about vampiric auras?
EDIT: Nevermind, I googled it and found the info. thanks though!

While I’m up for the trinity I don’t want GW2 to break word on its promise of people being forced into roles just to complete content. If I can clear content as a tank , healer then I should do able to do it in a all DPS group to as well.
This^
Stop catering to cry babies over imagined slights ANET. Balance your game on numbers and facts…not forum balancing. Recognize the game dynamics you created (that we purchased) and stop trying to nudge us into a trinity.
The problem though is having no trinity creates the other side of the coin where elitism exist since a single play style (zerk meta) can clear pretty much all content and many develop the attitude of “no zerk gtfo”. The game needs to rebalance its current content to have better variety catering to some condi or support builds required to have a smoother experience rather than zerk always being the meta for everything.
You are either rather inexperienced in the genre or least you never have played MMORPG heavily or let´s call it “seriously” for the lack of a better word.
-BiS gear would only change to having new BiS gear for your relevant role.
- Blame and shame the healer. Investigate that. It is really fun for people playing that role.
- “I need those last %”-tanks. Yeah, good luck on pinging your beloved “play how I want gear” when roles arrive. People have way more responsibility in trinity AND their failure does not vanish in the background noise of the encounter. That goes for subpar gear for their role too, especially for that.
- LFM/LFG queue fun.The original GW2 approach is more forgiving for unskilled and uninvested players. Many of the “but I wanna play the way i want to!” crowd will be in for a very rude awakening if GW goes trinity.
I used to raid 7 days a week in WoW when it was still 40 man raids so my experience is plenty.
My argument is at least a trinity has 3 roles, dps-heal-tank. Because GW content does not require a trinity to complete it creates the mentality that everybody must spec towards maximizing efficiency (in this case zerk) rather than playing/enjoying a role.
Yes you dont HAVE to go zerk and the content will still be completed but if you finish an instance in 12m rather than 10m ppl tend to blame the non zerk player even tho chances are the slower run had nothing to do with gear selection.

ok that makes sence i guess. gear doesnt make the game mor intersting, but i think it still matters
sure changin gear dont chang the content but thats bc the content isnt divers enof to make u WANT to change gears. everything is stand and spam
now if there were trinty and rolls then evryone would WANT to chnge gears and not try to tank in zerk lolol
so while the gear wont fix the problem. the lack of gear diversty, is a simptom.
and i say trinty is the cure
There is no lack of gear diversity in GW2. There is a lack of understanding of the role of gear on the forums, and a lack of new and challenging small group content that forces people to use the role diversity the game provides.
Trinity is a “cure” for the desire to play a dedicated role. There are plenty of boring encounters in trinity games.
What is the role of gear if you don’t mind me asking? I haven’t actually read anything official on the matter myself. From what I understand they were specifically designed to simply boost the stats of your character sheet.
The only thing official I’ve seen with respect to gear was that they want us to work/take time/spend for BiS. That doesn’t mean we cannot learn their intent for gear by what it does.
Yes, gear provides passive boosts to stats. By observation we can see clearly that there are choices along two axes: (1) highest direct damage — hybrid — highest condition damage; and (2) survival — high damage. There are choices at various points in the direct — condition axis for different points on the survival — damage axis. Berserker/Assassins are examples of an all direct/all damage choice; Knights and Soldiers are hybrid direct choices. It’s similar with conditions. Rampager/Sinister are at the high damage end, Carrion/Rapid are closer to the damage end of Hybrid and Dire is closer to the survival end. Nomad is all-survival with no increase to either direct or condition damage.
The perceived gear problem results when people try to pigeon-hole gear into trinity-style roles, or think that a particular prefix is “worthless” if they see no value for it in their demographic and in their chosen content choice. They’re essentially writing off the value other players in different demographics and maybe different content choices see in that prefix.

There are tons of viable builds out there for you to do dungeon content, a lot of them just aren’t optimal because dungeon content is so zerker meta. But they are shifting the meta with stacking so you can add condi as well.
A trinity rips you of that.
Not everyone wants to play the healer not everyone wants to play the tank.
Having pure healer mean robs you of being able to do a group of 5 randoms. In a trinity you cannot complete certain content without a certain class and it defeats the point of freedom. Why should you be able to have a content designed for ventari revenant? I want to play X class that is really bad in nomad gear, now I have to play Y class or we wont have a healer. It is TERRIBLE.
You destroy the concept of the casual nature of the game with a trinity. Here are some fine selections
Nomad Necromancers as the Healer
Sentinel Thieves as the Tank
Nope.
Healers have to be Ele/Guardian/Revenant, any other class just gets kicked. etc etc

Are Daniels hard to handle?
Does it pay well?

It has its ups and downs. It certainly isn’t as good as being a John Smith. Smithing a John has always been a career aspiration I just never reached.

Classes already don’t need a specialized healer – dodge rolling and self heals make a dedicated healer worthless.
