Probably a forum already on this but… POP in the newest POI was a revenant and it was quite funny because when the host realized this she was quite nervous. Also seemed to have some very cool looking skills

Pop? I just watched the POI number 15 to see what you were talking about.

I saw like 2 seconds of character selection where a white-bearded character face was there and a new class symbol was showing… Didn’t see a character name on the selection screen and the female host gave zero reaction while they waited for the player to select the charr and load back in.

So what the heck POI are you talking about? Is there another that isn’t up on youtube?

It was the part in game when he was fighting up around the rifle section. A Sylvari NPC named Pop came into the scene and joined the fight, using some skills that are almost certainly Reverant skills.

Oh! I was busy trying to read the names of the enemy NPCs he was fighting! I’ll have to watch again!

Yes, that is what I meant and “NPC” came out by accident. You are correct of course.

You have to remember that in HoT, nameplates show your mastery rank, not your level.

Could wee assume that maybe you start off at lvl 80 for mastery and work your way up?

Perhaps so! Or, since they are devs, maybe they just modded themself to lvl 81 for some reason. Make it easier to test something. Early on in the video I saw another dev run up to the charr character with a flamethrower and they had a red name above their head.

After watching the video for a while, I believe that it’s in fact a dagger he’s holding in his off hand. It looked like a warhorn in a few scenes but if anything just looked like a pearl reader dagger. Also while watching it seemed like the sylavri holding the rifles were thieves so possible specialization

I don’t think anyone should blame Pop. It’s clear in all the POIs that they are showing the active game world — just look at the particle dance parties that accrue as people find out where the pov character is hanging out — and this just happened to be an internal server. With hundreds of employees, it’s unlikely they all track what’s going on in POI or have any idea where it’s being filmed. Pop just went in to playtest in the starting area of HoT and it happened to be when a whole lot of folks were watching.

man it would be cool if he could be a mists character that keeps popping up only to be sucked back into the mists

there was actually a similar character in guild wars 1 cant remember his name tho but he was really really interesting

But wee saw it in action, but also learned their off-hand and I saw what I believe to be them channeling something at the start. Ya not much but its fun getting hyped for hype reasons lol
