If you have infinite gliding mastery, use all of your endurance and then switch off your glider. You won’t be able to deploy your glider for a few seconds. Enough time for you to fall helplessly to your death.

Gliders require some endurance to open now. It’s in the patch notes.

Very silly change then. It’s no longer ‘infinite’ gliding.

It’s infinite because you the glide endurance bar doesn’t decrease when gliding. The exception of course being the forward lean technique.

I don’t understand why people with infinite gliding unlocked still have to pay the endurance. The endurance cost was only added to prevent people without infinite gliding unlocked from cheating to glide infinitely, but apparently we all get “punished.”
I’ve died a far amount because of this change because I’m used to using up all of my endurance to glide faster, then I try to briefly drop to lower myself, and then fall 30 meters to my death. Some day I’ll get used to it…
You just have to train yourself to stop just before your endurance runs out. It’s not really that big a deal…or shouldn’t be.

Big deal? No. Confusing to people who earned it earlier? Yes.
But that’s mostly because people call it “infinite gliding” when the mastery is actually “advanced gliding”.
Description:
Learn to glide with such efficiency that you no longer use endurance to stay up in the air, only to perform lean techniques.
Fixed a bug that could allow players to glide indefinitely without having trained Advanced Gliding Mastery. Deploying your glider now requires a small amount of gliding endurance.
Most people don’t read bug notes and the current description is ambiguous about whether you need endurance to start gliding or not. They probably should update the in-game text.
tl;dr think of it as “Uninterrupted Gliding” not “Infinite” and it will be easier to get used to.
Those useless restrictions.

If you have advanced gliding, you can use lean techniques until your endurance reaches 0, but at that point you will stop leaning and your endurance will regenerate. It doesn’t stow your glider when you reach 0 endurance. If you personally stow it though and you don’t have enough endurance to reopen, yes you will fall a bit longer

Well . . . that explains why I fell to my death tonight . . . thanks.
Not sure what you are talking about, when I use lean technique my endurance goes to 0 but my glider doesn’t close (do you actively close it? Why?). When it’s at 0 lean technique stops, glider remains open, and endurance refills and I just glide without lean for a while. So it’s still infinite.

Sometimes you want to drop a little to fly underneath an arch or because you’re so high up you can’t see where exactly you need to land. Also, if you’re high enough to fall to your death but too low for the glider to redeploy with this new mechanic of needing a little endurance, landing can become tricky.
That said, I’ve had no problems with this added change to gliding. It’s only a minor change and very easy to take into account.

I understood it just fine. lol

Lean techniques also comes with the opposite effect.. use your backpeddle key and you practically stop in mid air (losing altitude while doing so) … there’s literally no reason to close your glider.

You did; the OP didn’t, since the title of the thread is “Infinite Gliding is no longer infinite”.

This.
They need to fix this as soon as possible. It cannot stand.

Wrong.

No. You can do this, but it’s not as good as just dropping and re-engaging, because it is slower and more boring. They DO need to fix this, they cannot just ask players to deal with it. If that means reverting the changes they made in the last patch, then that’s what they need to do.

The patch note makes it seem like they broke this to fix the other bug.
