Guild Wars 2

So my friend and i were having an argument of the leveling system after level 80. I told him that i wasn’t crazy and my fractal mastery leveled up by himself (without me training it). Can someone please confirm that statement.

When your selected mastery no longer needs XP, or you don’t have one selected, XP is redirected to any open mastery still needing it.
