in EU there is VAT, that’s why the same figure.
Archeage = Farmville with PK
Is there any way I can buy the expansion with dollars instead of euro’s?

For simple anonymous proxying:

It is not the same. The ultimate edition is $99.99 in the US. In the UK it is charged in pounds which when converted back to dollars is over $125.
VAT in the UK is less than 25%.
They are charging UK players extra.
What they (probably) mean is that US prices are usually displayed before tax, whereas UK and European prices include the tax in the displayed price.
If you were able to buy through the American site using US dollars what you’d find is that when you come to the payment confirmation page an additional charge has been added which brings the total up to roughly the same as the UK price (maybe not exactly, because of different amounts of tax and currency conversions, but much closer).
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I read a lot of electronic sites and all i see continously spammed ’Ignore VAt in us, just buy from Shop X (like Adorama) and you will pay 0 VAT, or If you buy from state X you pay almost no/completely no VAT (taxes).
And VAT is just a lie here for gw2. 99,99 dollars is clearly the intended END PRICE, not starting price. Are you telling me some americans pay 122 euro’s? (22% is highest VAT that i’ve heard off)? Don’t think so. You can order STRAIGHT from gw2.com and they anounce this price, doubt Anet themselfs adds taxes on top of it. Correct me if i’m wrong, but reading forums as an EU concerning American VATS it’s very confusing. It’s like even americans don’t know the rules about their own VAT exactly.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

Net prices in USD for the different editions, if purchased in the UK using GBP:
- Standard: $45.35 (US: $49.99)
- Deluxe: $77.74 (US: $74.99)
- Ultimate: $103.64 (US: $99.99)
Prices aren’t really that different, but it’s a bit weird that ANet absorbs a bunch of tax on the standard purchase but not the others.
€99,99 is not £79.99.
We are paying about £8 more than Europe.
Plus there is the antitrust breach regarding telling people to buy the core game, then giving it for free with HoT and stealth-changing their own FAQ to hide the change.
In my country we’ll pay 3.2 times more for the xpac (think around “$160”)… oh well.
