So with HoT came a lot of criticism that the expansion is too much focussed on big groups, with the big metamaps, raids and guild halls as lead example. Many argue that solo’ers have a hard time with the new content (I personally have no opinion on it since I didn’t even have the time to start it yet) and some even regret the fact that all the amazing features of guild halls seem to be blocked out for small guilds and solo’ers..
Now, the Guild Halls introduced an amazing feature: decoration. And all I’m wondering is; how hard could it be to introduce this feature to the home instances. It seems (to me at least; I’m no expert) simpler than ever to accomplish (the instances are there; the decorating mechanics are there) and I think it would really become a meaningful sink for solo’ers to devote their time to (at least it would be for me).
So what’s your opinion on this?

It’s a fun idea; I’m not sure it’s appropriate for this game at this time.
Let’s ignore the fact that it runs counter to ANet’s goal to get people to play together more (home instances being limited to five people at most and generally being confined to one).
I think it would be a terrible idea to introduce it anytime soon because the costs of all the relevant materials would spike even more, since it would increase the demand for leveling scribe and making stuff.
That said, I’m sure a notable fraction of the community would love to decorate their home instance. I don’t really care that much and yet, since I visit it daily, I wouldn’t mind the opportunity to customize it.
