While I know its EXTREMELY unlikely you would release the expansion anytime during the 2 week period between April 8th and April 22nd, allow me this moment to kindly request you don’t do anything related to HOT during this point. My reason is this…I just was hired on with the Google Fiber project and I’m Kitten STOKED, and well, while your game is pretty much my life…it doesn’t pay bills. In summary, PLEASE RELEASE EVERYTHING BEFORE APRIL 8TH OR AFTER APRIL 22ND.

First, congratulations on the job! Hope you can further you career there.

That being said, ArenaNet can’t schedule the company releases based on a single player’s reality. This means that, if HoT is released out of your training period, then good, if not, well that happens.

Assume they release it at april..imagine how buggy it will be…remember this recent patch how buggy it was? imagine that x100, so many complaints…release it when its ready.

They said they’re doing a full weak on each specialization. Presuming they include revenant in that, that’s 9 weeks. So let’s say they start these weeks this Monday. That’s March 23. 9 weeks later? May 18th as the final specialization week.

But it’s more likely to be akin to the “race weeks” that they had before releasing GW2. They were months apart from each other, throughout a full year’s worth. So chances are we’re looking at an August 28th release of HoT – why August 28th? Because GW2 anniversary.

Would have preferred April 28th (GW1 anniversary and 10 years of the game) but shrug

You’re safe. They couldn’t possibly release it that fast at this point, they’re still working on key systems and need beta feedback and haven’t set up pre-orders. It won’t be out in a month.

I WISH it could be released next month in april. But I highly doubt it ever would be. Bugs or not I would love to play some new content and level up/mess around with revenant. But I doubt it’s going to happen that soon. My hope is if its at least around by mid/end of summer.

Throw some of that google fiber my way, would ya?

They just start doing their first stress test, and they havene’t mentioned a single word about specialization probably because they’re not even finished yet.

I don’t expect HoT will land in another 3 months at least.

We know it can’t be less than 3 months out – Heart of Thorns is a physical product that sits on actual shelves. You have to tell retailers exact ship dates 3-4 months in advance or you don’t get to be on their shelves.

Don’t worry OP, there’s no way HoT comes out in April. CBT late March, OBT at earliest mid April and suddenly 8ts summer. Either early summer or not coming until gw2 3rd year anniversary for August 25th (headstart back in ’12, incidentally a Tuesday this year and what do we tend to get on Tuesdays…?)

While we have closed and open betas yet to come? And 9 weeks of specialization reveals? And then probably additional weeks of reveals on guild halls and ‘challenging group content’? I don’t think so.

Besides, if it was 2 months away there would be a release date and a price and options to pre-order.

I don’t think they will release it that early. They still need more time to polish the content or there will be a lot of bugs.

My guess is that HoT will be released eventually in August – September 2015. This is just my personal guess. I have no insider information.

Reality says July at the earliest and even that is slipping fast…
