Lucky person is lucky. I’ve seen one person ping in map chat in two days of doing SW. To say I’m done with the whole “Chance” thing is an understatement.

RNG is RNG. Nothing new or amazing about this.

Unless there is a finite number of these, I would expect that one person getting an extra portal should not decrease anyone else’s chances of getting one. If it works like normal loot tables (and statistics) would be expected to, your chance of getting a portal is independent of the number of portals looted so far. Of course, I am not a programmer, so it is possible that I am incorrect in how they are distributed.

On an unrelated note, I propose that portals be made account bound on use, just to see what happens. Let the TP fun begin!

well I would guess, the drop rate is very low so that they can fit people in, who knows maybe ANet can limit the number of how many drop, or should I say are, they know the “chance” of said item dropping, so they can work out, over the space of a week, how many should drop. then they’ll fill out the missing number with the email RNG.

One person getting 2 portals doesn’t mean someone will miss out you know. That player didn’t steal someone else’s drop.

Isn’t that the truth.

When you get one, your account is automatically flagged for beta access. When A-Net reaches their flagged account target number, they estimate a week time frame, they will turn off the drops.

So, it doesn’t matter if someone 1 or 100 drops, it will not change the number that drop or the drop rate. Also, if you accidentally sell it to a vendor or destroy it, your account is still flagged for beta access so no worries there.

Well, it is just a drop right? Try making an RNG sacrifice to the six gods! It worked for us

True, I have heard that “from an ANet employee” magic find does not work. I am not saying it will! Nor am I saying magic find affects its drop chance. I am saying what my version of a Sacrifice is. After all if your going to farm, farm like you mean it! And while farming you must repeat the chant " HoT Portal, HoT Portal"

I doubt people with multiple portals are stopping anyone else.

Anet will be working on the number of unique accounts rather than the number of portals found.
