The wording of the Revenant beta weekend announcement suggests that it’s not available to people with Portals, just those who have pre-purchased the xpac. Would it be possible to get some dev clarification on whether or not this is the case?

You already have it, check their official FAQ’s on the support side of the site. The portal was only for that one event.

I feel like I was screwed really with that portal event. They made it seem like the portal got you into more than just a really crappy event. That first beta event was a PAX booth test. You got a revanant with really crappy gear in weapons that don’t match their legends and neither that worked for pve.

I haven’t preordered HoT yet because I’ve still not seen anything announced worth buying it for.

This is just me guessing, but if ArenaNet is smart what they will do is allow everyone access to the last beta weekend event before HoT launches (pre-purchase or no), they probably won’t do anything like that very soon though, because their main goal atm. apart from finishing HoT is to incentivize pre-purchasing.

If they make a comeback with the portals any time soon you can probably assume HoT hasn’t sold enough pre-purchases without them doing that.

The Portal to the Heart of Maguuma is a done deal and has no other value than 25 silver in game (as I understand some still drop). Or as memorabilia of a past event.

That being said. I can’t wait to play Revanant again with a new legend and Staff weapon I hope we can check out condition damage with them? Sounds like we are getting an assortment of gear to play with and spec them out more than just the celestial stats this time.
