How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor post change to 250HP?
10 being the most fun
and 0 being the least fun.
(edited by Knighthonor.4061)
Well, im enjoying my druid now, so id say +100 and im enjoying playing with all the builds to see what works! Cant wait to do the same on my alts too!

This will make the Alt maxers people very VERY happy.
10 all the way /15char
Well I can finally leave wvw now. I will give it an 8/10. I personally am not a fan of the difficulty in open world pve nearly non stop fighting, I have raids and fractals for that. Just kind of an annoyance is all
i think its a good change, cause now ppl could focus on play the game, rather than trying to unlock Elite Spec
6/10, 5/10 before the change.
10/10 before
3/10 now
In regard to that part of the game.
5/10 before
Now that I have some traits for my Reaper I’m having a blast with it and I’m really enjoying it. So I appreciate that.
Gave it a 3/10 before and I’d say 4/10 now that I’ll actually get to play my elite specs. They still heavily nerfed rewards all across the board, the new event participation timeout is horrible, and I still don’t like that they changed open world pve to require groups without stating so up front.
I kind of understand the mastery grind, but the elite skill grind was off. I mean it’s not like those weapons were anything special.
Also it might not have been so bad if you could say max it out in one zone, but because of many of the hp being locked behind masteries and metas, you have to do probably around the first three zones before you had enough points, depending how many you had from the “old world” left over.
I think it’s better now. The grind should be the mastery system, the new stat gear/crafting, raiding and other things. Not weapons.
In terms of a number figure… I suppose… 7-8/10.. Now? A solid 8/10 maybe? lol
I dunno. I mean I already unlock my mains elite before the change, but it is a change for the better.

Here’s a fun idea: just choose not to unlock stuff until you have extra hero points. You can still self-kitten your build.

Significantly higher than when I got up this morning.
(I was still having fun, won a bidding war for a desired item, bought the crystal arbiter glider and love it, enjoying many other aspects of it, but the HP monster was looming over everything, and now its not, mostly)
Was at 2/10 before, now I would give it a 7/10, finally my alt chars have some part of their elite specs unlocked like reaper and herald. Yay having fun running around with those.
6 to 7.
It doesn’t affect things that drastically, but it does make the QoL better I just feel when it comes to planning.

It doesn’t change anything tbh. People are making a big deal out of nothing, as per the norm. Just people being intolerant of other people’s opinions, also as per the norm.

So far I’ve raised it up to 6/10. I haven’t done much, though.
+The events are challenging
-But require groups and people all over the map to complete
+The enemies are interesting and challenging
-But they are everywhere and makes their uniqueness moot.
+The maps are pretty and once you unlock gliding you have a lot of exploration
-On Foot the maps are linear and confusing
+The music is great
+The details are pretty

It does not require group, they literally just nerfed some of hero challange. If you are dying too much then stop using Zerker stats, zerker get their face melted in the jungle.
It’s a 7/10
The story is SO GOOD, the way my character talks now makes me feel like a commander. Having to train masteries to progress is a bit of a bummer

How would your rate the difference between before and after. It’s still the same content.

Might get all 9 level 80s specializations done before the end of 2016 now.
Got Reaper. 8 more to go.

No major improvements. Hero Points are not important. Miserable bribe will not change my opinion.
Little guild still can’t claim Guild Hall. I am in little guild, I no longer have access to banners, i can’t see new profession, i can’t find people in new map.
You kicked casual and solo players who buy in your store!
You are trying to do for 1% of players, who never pay you. That players will whine on forum and anywhere, but listening to them you kill the game.
People continue to leave this “new” gw2. Because it is not made for them.
P.S. it is time to rename the game to “Grind Grind x2: Grind of Grind”
This will make the Alt maxers people very VERY happy.
Not really, it’s just a drop in the bucket.
E. g., I got enough char slots to have one toon of each class and I created them all before the NPE hit (the last one just a day before that very update, since we knew what would come), so I won’t have to do that stupid trait unlocking. Meanwhile, they are all lvl 80 “veterans” and more or less geared, but out of those 8, I only got 2 world completitions, since once you get into how the game works, open world play is totally boring, at least that’s the way I see it.
So the others are somewhere between 60ish% and below 10% world completion (forced myself to do some maps now and them for the map rewards).
So I still have to run from Hero Point to Hero Point with at least 6 toons if I want to unlock the Elite Spec, even though the character might be a battle-proof hero that even kicked harder mobs like lupi several times in their butts.
I still think, having to grind Hero Points to unlock the Elite Specs was the most lazy design decision possible.
Back on topic: rated it 1/10 in the other thread due to several reasons, the 250HP change doesn’t change much about that. But since I’ll probably be able to now use the Reaper, I’ll go up to a 1,5/10.
10
<fifteen characters>Before, 7/10. Required masteries for the personal story were a bummer and pets that are gated behind huge grinds are even worse. Being stuck at 46% Druid unlocked after completing the whole story and needing another 225 hero points was a bummer too. I get that it’s new content, but they kinda went against their “play how you want” motto. No way to unlock elite specs through SPVP was also a bummer as it took me two days to download HoT. It was Playable after 8 hours, but the content for the personal story was not downloaded, so I was relegated to PvE zones or SPVP for a day and a half.
Now, 9/10. Druid fully unlocked and geared in all the ascended stuff I had set back for him. Been in WvW having a blast, right where I wanted to be. I’m kicking rear and very hard to kill. My last 2 pets are still gated behind a big PvE grind in Dragon’s Stand. Instead of just having one elite unlocked by the end of the year, now I might have a few and can have all the fun I want in WvW instead of grinding hero points.

Not meant to offend you but I vomited when I saw your reply and I didn’t mean that as an insult, I literally vomited in real life.
You have 0 idea of what a 0/10 game is, Ride to hell Retribution got 1.3.
For me, nothing has changed. I did not see any problem in 400 HP. But I see a lot of other problems that nobody will going to fix.
3/10. Music, beauty and gliders.
Small guilds are still deprived of what they had. Mastery grind is so boring… It’s not difficult – it’s dull and stupid.

Well now I get to do Druid work and am loving that change of pace – if it weren’t for mechanical issues with my controls I’d probably be more useful
(Seriously, that Solar Beam.)
Honestly, I’m still spending a buttload of time in Old Tyria as I have a host of things to actually still do there now. Like Legendary Collections.

That’s . . . quaint. No, really, that’s a quaint decision that this is grind.
I implore you, go pick up Final Fantasy 7 and go for a max stat game using the dropped Sources. Really want to hear you call this grind. Heck, go earlier to FF1 . . . oh boy that was grindariffic, and still is. (Enjoy the Swamp Cave, my friend!)
6 before … would recommend to others with caveats.
8 now … would absolutely recommend to others.
I haven’t played in the new borderlands yet or experienced all of the HoT zones so I’m being rather more conservative with my second score.

How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor post change to 250HP?
10 being the most fun
and 0 being the least fun.
It doesnt change.
However, they said they also fixed a bug that put people in almost empty maps. If that is true, the fun factor would get a huge boos.
Will test it this evening.
3/10 before, 5/10 now.
The change is nice but for those with several alts and no world completion is still going to be a chore. Heropoints hunting so one can enjoy the expansion as it should be is still annoying. If they increase the proof of heroics drop in WvW (at least double what is now) it gets a bit higher.
10/10 before.
5/10 now.
It’s too boring to get elite spec without any challenge.

My fun factors wasn’t really changed, maybe it went from a 8→8.5
It really depends.
If I’m in a full zone with players who know what they’re doing: 9
If I’m in a full zone with players who don’t know what they’re doing: 6
If I’m in an empty zone with few players at all: 3

9/10 before – I loved doing stuff for receiving stuff.
3/10 now – why is it an elite-specialisation now? It’s just another specialisation. Nothing elite about getting it thrown at your face.
Now that I can play on my elite without grinding the whole map, I must say I’m pretty jazzed. I’ve played necro for a long time and was really looking for a change.
My rating of the game has gone from about a 3/10 to 9/10 in the space of a day. The huge gate to elites kept me out of the game. I simply couldn’t stand that one grind. Couldn’t stand the idea of playing all the new content with a spec I had played for a year and a half.
Loving the new zones playing a new spec. Breathing new life in the game for me and I can now actually enjoy my surroundings.
edit: Didn’t even c the posting of Deviantshark when I wrote the post. Just goes to show there’s very different ideas of what makes the game fun. Deviant just fyi you still have all the same hero points you can grind on. Nothing taken away from you.

Pre: 9 – Everything was nice, achievements and progression took real effort
Post: 0 – A big fat zero! If you take out this progression decision, it’d still be at 9.
It’s been kittening 5 days and the whining, entitled casual player base has kittened their way to get everything unlocked in a whiff.
I’m just saying now, this was the release of an expansion, it’s probably going to be many months before we see new updates so don’t come complaining on the forums when there’s nothing new to work towards in terms of character progression.
ArenaNet, you caved on this iterative decision – complete bs…
Don’t get me wrong, the expansion itself is great, just you shouldn’t cave to a vocal minority about making progression goals so easily achieveable… where’s your long-term perspective???

Funny you see it that way. My impression is that it’s the casual players that don’t really care about the grind since they don’t dig in too deep into the game anyway, so something “to do” aka grind for while running around in the open world doesn’t bother them too much.
The dedicated not-so-casual players in return don’t want to waste time to get their Elite-Specs and farm endlessly for Masteries, but want to access the new features they payed for by buying the expansion and make the best use of them they can- preferably by using them in new challenging and rewarding content.
And the latter is the part where the game fails miserably since HoT launched imho.

But somehow they accepted not being fully trained and leveled at the launch of GW2… it’s like their attitude with HoT in terms of character progression has changed from, “Oh, it’s ok to grow more powerful as I level up… yes I’ll be sub-par until lvl 80 with everything unlocked” and now they just sound like a child wanting all the candy immediately without putting in any effort.
9/10, as before the change.
+ Challenging open world PvE
+ Complex and consistent story flavored dynamic events
+ Complex and consistent storytelling
+ Guild Halls [Housing & Teamwork]
+ Beautiful landscapes
+ Interesting exploration
+ Gliiiiiiiiiiiiiidiiiiiiiiiing!
+ Fun elite specialisation
(for which I sadly get refunded of 90 hero points I do not know what I will do with)
5 .. it was a 10 but then they changed it to 250 .. oh well i’m got gonna cry because i’m not a child throwing a tantrum over it taking time to get.

Well, it’s one thing to level a character once until it hits max level, it’s another to be forced to do it again. May be it has something to do with where the players come from. Ppl that played other MMOs might think “hey, it’s an X-Pac, it’s normal having to grind XP again”.
Players that come from Gw1 probably see it a bit different, more like "kitten, GW credo always was “get to max level and max gear asap and then progress by collecting skins and git gud”. Though Arena.Net started to slightly soften that with the GW1 X-Pac EotN (introducing the title tracks for Norn, Ebon Vanguard, etc.), back then you still got reasonable far by just playing the story.
And after all, all it did was slightly increasing your effectivness, may be comparable to the difference between ascended and exotic gear in gw2.
And even back then, people already complained about those tracks sometimes gating the story, so Arena.Net could have been aware of that.
I don’t think that the players asking for immediate access to the Elite-Specs for their already lvl 80 chars “want all the candy right now”, they rather consider them a basic feature of the X-Pac, an additional possibility for more customization of their characters.
5 .. it was a 10 but then they changed it to 250 .. oh well i’m got gonna cry because i’m not a child throwing a tantrum over it taking time to get.
Oh the irony… proof read before posting also good.
I’ll up mine from 0 to 4. Still not a fan of the event setup myself but at least i wont have to rush the masteries in order to get my elite unlocked before going through the story.

They nerfed and ruined the expansion. Some players on the forums and reddit is all it takes, and then the nerfs are coming.
