So far, Mordremoth has destroyed Concordia, Fort Salma and Monger’s Sink, while destroying a few dozen waypoints along the way, leaving ugly vines where ever it goes, and there will be more untold damage throughout HoT.

After Mordy is dead, will there be an operation to revert this damage by cutting down the vines, and rebuilding the destroyed areas? While im all for the philosophy of permanent change to world, im just concerned that by the time we finish off the 6th dragon, the world will look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland, with bits of stale dragon paraphernalia dotting the landscape.

Like the situation with Orr, its supposedly being “cleaned up” by destroying the remainder of Zhaitan’s forces, while the continent slowly cleanses itself. Will a similar operation occur after HoT?

I’m not sure who you are aiming this at. The devs wont answer anything story related, specially long term. We don’t even know if Mord will part of the initial expac or part of the next living story series.

Should the changes be reverted? Probably. Something as small as fort destructions, inactive waypoints restored should be a fix since it it would be silly to leave them in limbo. However it is unlikely they wont be unless they obstruct future LW updates.

Whilst the concept of the LW is pretty admirable, point in time references are blurry and it is debatable whether it would make more sense to keep them there since HoT will be permanent and active, or to remove the damage and keep HoT as a separate ‘bubble’ for that story.

At the very least, the video showing off the new deathshroud animation in Lion’s Arch had some notable progress towards the cleanup.
