Lets theorycraft here. The forum is kind of crowded, so kind of hard to find good theories.

Assuming that more than one class get the same secondary profession for elite specs:

These classes would be off the list in theory along with their skill types
*Necro
*Ranger
*Warrior

What that leaves remaining are:

Thief : ( Deception, Signet, Trick, Venom)
Guardian : ( Consecrations, Meditations, Signet, Spirit Weapon, Tomes)
Mesmer : ( Clone, Glamour, Manipulation, Mantra, Phantasm, Signet)
Engineer : ( Kits, Turrets, Gadgets, Elixir)
Elementalist Arcanes, Cantrips, Conjures, Glyphs, Signet)
Revenant : (Unknown)
——————————————————————————————————————————————————

Class remaining to get a Elite Spec reveal are:

*Rangers- (already has signets)
*Engineers-
*Warriors-(already has Signets)
*Thieves- (Already have Signets)
*Elementalist- (already has Signets)
*Revenants- (unknown)

additional theorycrafting:

*What if the Reaper isnt really Necro/Warrior, but is really Necro/Guardian or Necro/Ranger?

*What if Dragon Hunters isnt really Guardian/Ranger, but Guardian/Thief instead?

what that means is that Warrior and Ranger skills types could still be left on the table .

Here are Warrior and Ranger skill types:

*Warrior : (Signet, Physicals, Banners, Stances, Transform, Stances)
*Ranger : ( Signet, Spirits, Survival )

so please add more theories to go along with this on Elite Specs…

Physicals and Tricks skill types seem too similar in function to add an additional play style to either Thieves or Warriors.

Oddly, I see Mantras going to Thieves. Disciplinary meditations to prepare for that perfect shot…

Assuming they’re a “sniper” specialization.

and what if your theory is just a junk? Necro got shouts which are completely different from any other shouts in game… it’s neither Necro/Warrior or Necro/Guardian, it’s Reaper… whole class combination based on skill types is a nonsense and you still flood the forum with it…

and when the Warrior was announced before Guardian, is Guardian in fact a Guardian/Warrior because he share some skill types of Warrior? and Warrior is a Warrior/Elementalist, because Ele got announced first and Warrior have signets? OMG every profession is X/Elementalist! WOW!

sorry but you can’t be serious…

Confused by your statement regarding Warrior and Guardian….

Anet themselves compared this system to Dual Class system of GW1, which cant be 100% copy pasted into GW2 because it uses a totally different system of combat and builds.

yes ANet compared it to Dual Class system, but you wrongly assume that the secondary class is already existing class, which is a nonsense… secondary classes are new elite specializations, they are not mixing existing classes… what you think is mixing of existing classes is just a standardization of skill types, because new runes will be much more skill type oriented and they want to utilize them as much as possible… that’s the reason why skills without type will get one and new skills get (mostly? not sure if all) already existing types…

Necro got shouts, that means he got skills with a specific mechanic described more or less by definition of skill type shout… it doesn’t have anything to do with other classes which already have shouts, they are not mixing Necro with Warrior or Guardian…

I’m playing to your game

I think phantasm, turret and spirit weapon should be list together as minion because basically they are the same.
Tomes from guardian are bound to disapear.
And warrior transform is set to become a physical ability. (no news about necromancers elite thought)
Kit and conjure could be in the same skill type. → Kits
Venom and Mantra (Maybe glyph to), again are the same. → Preparations
Banner and spirit. → Wards

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

Plague will probably be corruption and Lich will probably be spectral

I think you are merging skills which are similar, but their functionality is quite different… so I’m not sure if they could really merge them… but they could merge them for the runes purpose, so rune of minion for example would affect all minion-like skill types, not just minion skill type…

COMPLETELY THIS. These Elite Specializations are not a secondary profession, Anet is just taking skills already in the game because it’ll be easier for them to code and integrate, thus leading to HoT to release earlier. Dragonhunter is not a Guardian/Ranger, it is a Dragonhunter. Same goes for Reaper and Chronomancer. They are just using skills that other classes had to give it a new play style.
