Since the HoT pre-order “comes with the core game”, does that mean if you already have the core game you get:

1 account with access to HoT when it comes out, and
1 account with access solely to the core game when HoT comes out, or

just 1 account with access to HoT when it comes out?

The second scenario is the most likely answer, but one would feel less jipped if it were the first. Imagine, you could give that 2nd account to a friend who could then purchase the expansion if he wanted and then do the same thing causing a chain reaction of expansion purchases until someone decides not to buy the expansion or to just keep the second account to themselves. Also people would feel less jipped with the whole situation.

If you link it to an existing account you get only the expansion access. If you don’t link it to an existing account then you get a new account that has access to the expansion.

No you don’t pay extra for it. If you have the core game you pay for the expansion. If you don’t have the core game you get that for free yet still pay for the expansion.

Benefit of having the core game is you had experienced what the game has offered up until this point. You also get to jump right into HoT when it launches.

Benefit of being a new player is you get the core game for free but start at level one and have to work your way into HoT.

No you don’t pay extra for it. If you have the core game you pay for the expansion. If you don’t have the core game you get that for free yet still pay for the expansion.
