As title say.

Let’s come up with some ideas, or even just speculate how Racially will be effected by channels of legends.

Sounds like it Chrury.

But there were also those arrows above the skills, so maybe they’ll give you a choice between legendary skills and racial/Antitoxin Spray skills.

I’m probably confused but it read to me like you could only swap Legends.

I doubt that’s how it works, because if that was the case, than this would be the only class with no utility skills since all skills are from weapons and channels.

I believe that the class gets utilities, but utilities get a unique spin on them when it comes to channels.

Similar way that Racials have Toolbelt effects for Engineer’s class mechanics..

I’m probably confused but it read to me like you could only swap Legends.

On the picture of the UI bar for the Rev you can clearly see the little arrows to choose utility skill slots.

Edit: By the way I dunno if anyone noticed, but the first skill bar screen shot shows him in the Great Dwarf stance and the 3 utility skills are still in the process of swapping. What I mean is the icons are doing that vertical flip-flop thing. The #8 slot is particularly flat and you can’t see what the icon is.

Similar way that Racials have Toolbelt effects for Engineer’s class mechanics..

This is pretty much how I expect it to go.
The class will likely have a choice of utilities, but their utilities will change based on the Legend – much like Elementalist Glyphs change their effects based on Attunement, is how I’d look at it.
Alternately, perhaps the class will have separate ‘pools’ of utility skills, and F1/F2 will swap between presets, more or less, like how there’s presets for underwater and on-ground skills. If I were to design this style of Utility swap, I’d have each skill bought unlock one skill for each pool.

Norn Forms-

What if each Norn Form had a darker theme to them with a passive effect added to them?

Another channel may turn he Forms into attacks based on the animal, instead of it being a form.

I mean it’s possible, sure, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Racial skills were DOA in the first place and have languished in obscurity ever since.

Why Anet purposely designed skills intended to be mostly useless in the first place is beyond me. Like, if you don’t intend the skills to be useful, and you don’t want people choosing race for a mechanical advantage, then why have them in the first place? Just add… like… racial emotes or something in stead.

I mean, racial armor is like that. using it doesn’t actively put you at a disadvantage and it adds racial flavor to characters.

I really just wish they buff them up to useful tier and add mastery tracks to learn racial skills from the other races or something.

Everyone keeps treating the arrows like they’re a sign, but they’re just a part of the standard UI, their presence just means the character is not in combat. Based on what has been said in the article and dev response in a previous thread, it really does seem that the legends are fixed set.

Basically Revenants buy their utilities in batches rather than piecemeal like other classes. It will be interesting to see whether they are appropriately compensated for the loss of choice. It could allow them to do some interesting things like utility sets that are very interdependent and chain together for some sort of combo?

But back to the question at hand, I suspect you may be able to swap in racials, and that is the only swaps you’ll have, or maybe there will be race specific Legends, like Norn Channeling Jorra or Asura conjuring Snaff?

We don’t know if revenants have a set skills per legend, if there is several skills per legends we can chose to slot or we can use our own utilities, maybe even utilities behave differently with each legend. It seems like we are jumping the gun here. Roy said that certain things aren’t set in stone which means a lot of things can be changed. Also I have a sneaky feeling that expansion will be in Q3 of the year (I won’t explain it. Everyone has their theories :p ) which gives the dev’s a lot of time to work out the details

I think each Legend will provide access to a single healing and elite skill, and a choice of 4 utility skills, similar to normal utility skill types (e.g. Consecrations, Corruptions, Cantrips, Glamours, etc.). So we can slot 3 of the 4 utilities in an order of our choosing, with the option of slotting racials normally.

The question is: will a slotted racial be swapped out when you switch Legend? My guess is yes (unless you slot it for both Legends of course), but they’ll have to retain any existing cooldown to offset the fact that they don’t require energy.

why waste hours doing something that you get nothing for? Enjoyment? I’d rather run fractals.
