Is it possible for any ANet employee to let us know when HoT will be available for pre-ordering from stores? I keep checking in to my local store but they have no news of it as of yet.

Keeping in mind that pre-ordering date has little bearing on release date.

AngryJoe’s interview, which took place last weekend, said they were more focuses on Closed Beta and the PAX previews at the moment and won’t be giving prices or dates until they get closer to release.
When you hear the news that Closed Beta has ended, keep your ears open for the Open Beta as they might be ready to release the information about dates and prices near then.
They might do pre-order weekends like they did for GW2’s initial release, hopefully a head-start as well.

Best source I can say is either their Twitter or Facebook, both are pretty active

I’d be happy to Preorder right now even if the release was end of next year. I’m going to get it regardless of when it comes out. But theirs a chance that they don’t know what they want to add as a preorder bonus or if theirs going to be a deluxe edition/collectors edition. That and the idea of having a physical box might appeal to some.

I actually made a thread asking about a physical copy earlier last month, the response was in the official HoT FAQ

“Q: Will this expansion only be available digitally, or will there be a boxed edition as well?
A: Both. Once Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is available, you’ll be able to buy it digitally or get boxed editions at retail stores.”

Basically this. I understand pre-order bonus blah blah blah, but most of those things can be announced as time comes right? LET ME PREORDER kitten haha
