So what would be decent fast dps weapon set for leveling from 1-80 (with speed increase and movement to go one spot to another) ?

We have no idea what the rest of there traits/skills/mechanics/weapons are. So we can’t tell yet.

Some of the daily chevos give a tome (Though AFAIK It’s only lvl X-Y fractals and keep capture that have a tome). They are also a log-in reward for the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th day of logging in, and you can choose to get a stack of six for the final login reward.

Just stockpile crafting components. The act of crafting doesn’t take all that long.

Or if you must craft everything right this minute bet on berserker. It’s generally a safe bet. Hammer looks to be mostly direct damage. Mace has some condition mixed in there.

Berserker, Celestial, Dire/Rabid are all good bets.

Good thing in GW2 is your ascended armor is account bound…just gonna use my warrior’s berserker armor until I know better to craft something else :-)

Considering they’ve announced no meaningful PvE stat overhaul or design changes, and Berserker and Soldier are the best armor sets for literally every profession, it’s pretty obvious what will be better right now.

I agree that Soldier would definitely be better, but im too lazy to and get soldiers stuff, i’d rather just pick one of the Carapace box armours for starting gear, because ive got dozens of carapace boxes from farming Silverwastes, then upgrade to an exotic/ascended set of whatever stat I feel is best after playing Revenant. If I get really bored though, ill just go and grind out a set of exotic soldiers gear in a dungeon beforehand.

I wouldn’t go with Berserker myself, because we don’t know how squishy it will be, and we don’t know how difficult the content in HoT will be. Also, I just don’t want to be playing a brand new profession ive never played before with no defensive investment, because I don’t know how to play it, and ill die constantly without defence. If it turns out Revenant is a walking Great Wall of China, and I learn to play it really well, I wouldn’t mind going to Berserkers for the extra damage.

i myself am doing celestial for a ‘one size fits all’ deal, not to mention the ascended trinkets fit in quite well with the theme. (celestial sigil = guild halls, mursaat token=new allies)

I am not worrying about armor yet till my Revenant is level 80.

Right now I am just hunting skins to wear on him, and collecting crafting mats for leveling up,
Collecting exp scrolls.
And collecting Tomes .

By that time I’ll have plenty of tomes of knowledge and wvw badges of honor. Planning to pop right into the PvP citadel and get whichever armor/weaps of those stats seems to fit best. Than pop a few trans charges to get the looks i want and Bam, ready to roll.

-2-3 pieces of knight depending on how much def you want to stack in wvw and how many points you willing to put into retribution for a roaming build (i aim for 2650def, 4 points in retri) rest zerk

-Wvw blob runner – ptv obviously, maybe full knight instead for some lolwtf 4,4k+ def i run full zerk war and i hit that guy for 2k crit evi olny!!!

-Pve dungs full zerk

-Casual open world pve same as wvw roaming one.

For leveling up to 80 without any tomes, get minor sigil of bloodlust and sigil of speed put on a lvl 1 weapon (probably hammer as its ranged and decent aoe). I find that at lvl 2-10 once i have 25 stacks from sigil I kill most things in 1-2 hits and lvl to 10-15 very quickly. After that do story (plus a free bl key) then from there on zerker masterwork gear will probably get you to 80 fastest.

I thought you could? It’s been a while but temple armour/accessories were “account bound” and only character bound on equip, did that change?

right now I’m working to get all main hand weapons ascended zerker and a full set of ascended zerker armor

and before someone shouts “you just want it because of meta” or “zerker won’t be meta” ….not because of meta, but because I like the feel of zerker playstyle

if some random thing happens and I don’t like zerker on rev, I have dungeon armor boxes from sPvP stashed in my bank, and a kitten ton of badges I can spend in WvW

Well, 16 everyone 28 days.

…and that assumes you have an Experience Scroll from either a character birthday or hitting one of the 5k Achievement milestones (which, arguably, is very likely), otherwise you’ll need to go through the whole daily login bonus 5 times.

I’m thinking Knights Armor with Zerk accessories if Hammer is decent, if not I’ll roll a condi-set.

I’m not entirely worried about Rev’s medium health with life-steal, 2 slotted heals, and the Invocation line dropping those health orbs for you and party members every time you use an energy consuming skill (which is everything besides for the AA).
Kinda worried because I don’t think the devs were using it in their showcase, I never actually saw those Mist Orbs, so it’s just wishful thinking.
I think raw damage and armor is what I should focus on unless Revenant is golden for conditions.

I got a couple of defenders ascended armour chests, so there’s something there already. Also got an exo reward chest from login. Going to get the daily crafting components up to snuff. That being said, my other chars are only slowly getting their ascended weaponry XD

and if you DON’T want to level the boring way by clicking a bunch of books while your character stares at the poor banker with dead eyes, this might be a rare case where a condi build might be your best option for killing in the open world. Then again, we have to see weather or not the revenant will have a good power melee weapon.
