Q:
Purchased Heart of Thorns
A:
Yes, NCSoft does have something to do with GW2, with DigitalRiver. I received refunds from DigitalRiver when I contacted NCSoft support about my unknown charges.
No.
Did you buy it from a legitimate location?
In your backline: Elementalist+Mesmer+Necromancer
Did you buy it from amazon in a 12/24 monthly plan?
Has someone else accessed your account and purchased Gems, or something? How much was charged, and who was it charged from? DRI Arenanet?
No to all of the above.
Well your first mistake was buying heart of thorns XD
So, again, who is the monthly charge from?
I’m receiving a monthly charge. I don’t remember there being a monthly charge. Is it standard?
There is no monthly charge, if your getting one, its from 3rd party or another game
I am being charged $10.72 a month by NCSoft. The only NCSoft game I’m playing is GW2. I am trying to trace this down further, hence the post in this forum. I’m waiting for an answer from support. I will put a stop payment if necessary.
I would be very cautious about a stop payment. If it turns out to be a legitimate charge from ncsoft, you might lose your account by stopping payment. Work with support. You can always get a refund if it turns out to be an error of some sort. I’d rather pay the extra $10.72 and get a refund later than lose my account.
ANet may give it to you.
Don’t stop payment unless you want your account closed permanently. You didn’t enroll in some blade of soul monthly plan did you?
I believe payments for GW2 show up as ArenaNet, not NCSoft, so it’s more likely to be from one of their other games – if you have an NCSoft account, I’d log in to that and check you don’t have any subscriptions set up for any of the other games.

Payments for GW2 show up as DigitalRiver US Inc for me. If its NCSoft the only game i can think of it being is BnS.

I get DRI*ARENA, but either way, it’s defintely not NCSoft.
It could also be Wildstar – although that’s gone free to play, there is still a subscription for cosmetic bonuses.
If you have an NCSoft account, login at ncsoft.com and check what games you have. If you’ve ever purchased and registered a subscription MMO, you were automatically signed up for a monthly subscription.
If you do not have an NCSoft account and have not purchased any of the NCSoft games, contact NCSoft’s billing/fraud support: http://us.ncsoft.com/en/charges/
All GW2 payments are processed through and appear as DigitalRiver. It’s unlikely that forcing a chargeback for an NCSoft payment will affect GW2, however keep in mind that doing so will permanently blacklist your billing information at NCSoft as a chargeback is considered fraud and should only be done as a last resort.
Thanks for the extended information. I will check NCSoft again. Two days ago when I checked, I couldn’t find my game information. I am playing B&S, but only for a week. So that can’t be the charge I’ve experienced for three months. The charge correlates with my downloading Hearts of Thorns. That’s why I ask if there is a subscription to that expansion.
I checked my NCSoft account and it doesn’t even list GW3 or Heart of Thrones. I did find a way to email them with my information, so I will follow through with that.

Are you from the future how is GW3? sorry couldent resist

That’s because NCSoft Account Management or NCSoft Accounts have nothing to do with GW2 or GW2: Heart of Thorns. This was announced before release of Guild Wars 2.
Thus, as noted above, if the charges are from NCSoft, it has nothing to do with ArenaNet nor GW2/Heart of Thorns.
