Just sayin’ – a chance to learn to something new after the part with YouTubers’ pure speculation.

I had fun once. It was awful.

Err, interviewer is either clueless or was told asked not to ask questions that would end up revealing something not mentioned during the main presentation. :S

It will be longer for the beta since the DEMO AT PAX will be in 6 weeks.

That’s true but I believe MO used the words beta when discussing the pax gameplay.

That’s sometimes true. I rewatched the interview and I didn’t hear MO say beta… or demo for that matter, I probably heard the word beta from wooden or mattvisual. In any case, the game is most likely in beta state now, but we’ll find out for certain in a few weeks.

In my experiences with testing, playable demos available to the general public generally aren’t offered until the game is past alpha and the NDA phase of the beta is well underway.

You’re definitely rarely going to see a demo of anything that’s still in alpha, let alone pre-alpha, except in the form of demonstration videos.

There are an increasing number of exceptions these days, generally in the crowdsourced market where developers are often less concerned about keeping secrets and more concerned about giving their backers something to show for their pledges (and where the company feels secure that the testers understand that they’re playing a completely unpolished game and the proper response to finding issues is to report them and do what they can to fix those problems, rather than abandon the game and blog about how bad it is), but ArenaNet doesn’t follow that model.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
