I imagine that would require an extensive re-code of the game’s engine. I highly doubt the game will ever use multi-core CPU’s more efficiently.
I know it requires recoding, but i hoped. Maybe one day they will change the engine, a lot of games does it.
Thank you for the answer.
We are doomed !
PS: I will support you – Give us more GW 1 weapon and armor skins, please. COPY/PASTE ALREADY!!!!

Yeah, the GW2 engine is just a heavily modified version of the GW1 engine. I would like to see an upgrade as well, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s probably too expensive and time consuming to do.
Pretty sure it use 2 cores all 32 bit programs does but there is a thing called
hyperthreading if you’re system support it.

It will never happen.

As far as we know the core engine will not change. It is mostly game assets (granted, a lot of them) and tweaks to some of the code.
In addition to supporting multiple cores (does anyone even MAKE single core chips for desktops) I would love to see them fully support 64 bit. The first is efficiency, the latter leads to bugs.
The possibilities are limited due to the use of DX9. GW2 does use multiple cores, but it’s ultimately limited due to DX9 running on a single thread.
Rather than fix the problem, they’ll likely rely on reducing the map population instead. Upgrading the engine is no trivial task. If they ever get around to it, you’ll likely hear the keywords 64-bit and DX11/12.
Dunno if I’d rather have had a new engine, DX12+, hyperthreading, multi GPU use or a real expac, honestly. We’ll never see the first choice in GW2 however, so here’s to the expac!
