Q: Can I equip the new Utility Skills whitout putting the new Elite Trate line in the trate slot.

so an example:
If I have the expansion and I’m plaing as a Guardian
if I run 3 old trate lines (whitout Dragonhunter) can I use traps?

No

Apparently no, but I’m not 100% sure.
Seems that the elite specialization inherit the core class features, but the core doesn’t have access to the elite features.

I think that too but can any1 link it?

Look at the reaper’s minor adept trait for example, which says:

You can equip greatswords and use reaper shouts. Death Shroud is replaced with Reaper’s Shroud, which has more melee oriented skills.

That would only be neccesary if a necromancer couldn’t use shouts without the trait.

In order to equip any of these new skills, you’ll have to train and equip the corresponding elite specialization.
