Guild Wars 2

Will we be given a character slot to try out the new class when the expansion comes out or will we need to buy one?

If I could get an official answer on this that’d be fantastic. Love the new features coming, just made my year!

you will likely need to purchase a slot. I bet they will go on sale just before or around the time of launch.

hard to say tho, since it’s a paid expansion it may come with a slot of it’s own… thats not entirely unlikely. time will tell.

Indeed it will. Either way I’m excited to try out the new prof and see what it’s like to play.

GW1, Factions/Nightfall both gave you two extra character slots (with each granting 2 new classes); I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that you can just hop in with the new class.

Pretty sure we’ll get a new slot with the expansion, since we’re paying for it.
Back in Guild Wars 1 you started with 4 slots and got an additional 2 slots for Factions and Nightfall each. Can’t remember whether that was also the case with GWEN … >.>

it wasnt with EotN, but there were also no new professions with that expansion. just new skills / maps. You couldn’t “start from scratch” in there like you could Cantha and Elona.
