were resonating slivers the only thing that made scribing expensive?

As quick as the Valkyries ride,
As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.

No, also Flax Fiber, which went up in price after the increase in R-sliver supply. (Not to mention wood, leather, etc, which are pricey for all sorts of things.)

On 12 April (pre-patch), the mats for a r1-400 leveling guide ran to ~700g total. Those same mats now cost ~650g. However, due to reduction in requirements and thanks to gw2crafts.net, there are more efficient ways to reach r400 scribe — today’s total is ~450g.

Still extremely expensive, about 10x that of getting Hunstman to 400, but ANet did do a great job of bringing the price down. Almost cut it in half which is a huge improvement in my book. Still too expensive for me at the moment, but its at least a much more reachable goal now

There was also the Brown Pigments because every single tier of scribing was using them and you needed 10 at a time.

i just find it funny that the solution to making scribing cheaper was to increase the ways to get expensive items, rather than having the profession use cheaper ones.

I mean why would they remove the requirements of Scribing using the new materials that were introduced with HoT specifically for scribing? That doesn’t really make sense.

And they are more expensive because not everyone has or plays in HoT maps, which means fewer players are getting those materials.

scribing is still too expensive. Not having a system like for guild upgrades where guildies can donate mats for decorations the guild has decided apon makes it a solo endevaor, pretty much. ANd currently in my 250ish sized guild its a personal thing. EVen a step above basic Decorations cost too much. BLame the sky high T4 prices of cloth, ore, leather and wood. A scribe with out their guilds support means no decorating for you and levelign scribing becomes pointless.

I think the idea was to have guild support, but the reality is many don’t have it, which makes scribing outrageously expensive. and i agree on the brown dye problem. the color of the pigment should change tier to tier.

in addition: I’d like to see more holiday events where we could get tokens/ things for scribing liek the pumpkins and super clouds.

Yo, Ho, all together, raise the colors high,
Yo, Ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die

I leveled my scribe after the patch. Wasn’t that bad but I had plenty of the fibers. Spent around maybe 100g which is not far off from the other crafting professions.

Brown pigments are only used for the lowest tier. That was in the April patch.
