Raids forcing stats on certain classes?

Detail why do you need condi or power damage does he gets enraged if you do not kill him after a certain time?

Yes, does 200% extra damage. You need almost everyone to be in glass to get anywhere close to killing him. In addition, he has an add that is immune to power damage.
And that’s just the first boss, there are several more after!
Well what about not getting hit or better have tank in your team. I mean 200% its no big deal if its not followed by anything else.
he’s does a lot of aoe when enraged at least in phase 3.

Although i think you demand a lot by saying “not getting hit” your argument nonetheless is valid.
However, the vale guardian has a dmg pulse output ticking every few second, so it’s impossible “not getting hit”. Especially with everything else going on in this fight.
Have you tried it yet? Or seen a video on youtube? If not, you should.

Oh I tried it and I noticed I can survive a lot more if I use range weapons and dodge a lot. Not so much for my teammates for some reason. I got killed trying to ress them then they gave up then tried it alone with another person. Found out red circles kill no matter your build but it still works to move and use range.
Staying alive is easy in any game mode, even PvP. It’s being useful that is hard.
Its all about patience a lot of patience if you can kite him for about 8 hours or so I he might be soloed. But imagine if 10 people can do the same thing you will reduce the time in less then a hour.
Do you see my point?
You don’t get an hour, you get 8 minutes. And it’s not straight DPS, you have to deal with multiple different mechanics and the adds.

You have 8 minutes until he gets enraged but was this not discussed just do not get hit and yes I know you have to deal with different mechanics and adds that is why I said do not get hit and try to damage him when you get the chance they you go bac to dodging and range hitting him again when you can.
Kite the hell out of him.

It’s a lot to keep up with – someone tanking, lots of DPS for the timer, at least 4 people to constantly run into the green circles every time they spawn, avoid the red circles, avoid the blue circles so you don’t get teleported, etc.
Or you can just dodge everything and hit once in a blue moon. Of course there is no person that can keep up that for 8 hours that is why you need a group. For example you range with a riffle so you get out of his tick or at least be at the edge of the tick giving you space to dodge it. It will be a lot of running but you all get the point?
A all range tactic. If the one that takes aggro dies the other one who takes his place has kite the guardian so someone goes and resses the dead person. I wish I could put this strategy in action. I need some people who lets say have a lot of patience.

But the timer means that you don’t need patience. You need speed.

Okay what is with the timer? Where there no bosses ever killed after they got enraged?
Also that tactic I described is for well all kinds of people that have patience. You do not have to be good just patient.

Well, not any that I’ve seen so far. In the groups I’ve been in Enraged = Mass Death.
Changing stats on ascended gear is rather cheap, unless you have expensive runes.
Do i have to reforge them now if i want to play raids?
I mean that’s gonna be horribly costly, especially on the financial side. Crafting them alone costs a lot / is very time consuming.
You can change the stats in the mystic forge, though you’ll lose any upgrades slotted into them.
However, I suspect that you may wind up needing a second or even a third set by the time all the HoT raids are out, if you want to do them all.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

Runes are the cheap part.
The 1200g+ cost of versatile infusions is what makes it dumb to even consider re-statting armor for some people.

Suppose that would be a problem if you didn’t have the expansion, but given this was a thread about needing to possibly change stats for raiding, that shouldn’t be an issue.

There’s an infusion extractor for sale in Dessa’s Lab now at the cost of like 30 silver.
The problem with changing stats on ascended set is the next boss. What if (we dont know yet) it requires another set of stats. And again, its not just recommended, you either have 10 people with best stats or you fail. Will you change your gear for every boss? Will you craft dozen sets once all the raids are released?

Well there will always be room in the raid for a zerker, the bosses have enrage timers so someone is going to need to output damage. It’s just that you won’t be able to do it with only zerkers. That means you will need more than zerkers. The problem then comes in that everyone and their dog is a zerker (because of the Icebow Meta XD ), so that means you have a high level of competition. Luckily most classes have a variety of builds available to them, so you won’t need to level another class, but you’d need to change gear if you want to have a higher chance of getting a spot in the raid.

Nah. It’s a 10 man raid, presumably you create a group makeup that isn’t perfect for a boss but has enough variety to deal with all bosses. Ideally you’d just have to switch some traits.
Raids forcing stats?..
Oh you mean kinda like how everyone are forced to play a zerk build if they want to join a group for something?..
So sorry for you that you can’t only play Zerk.. World must be a hard and unforgiving place to live in……..

Ehh… zerk is a glass dps build, so if i am able to play it i surely won’t have troubles with any other build. But anyway, you are missing the point. My problem is not playing different stats but how the raids generate a new meta and force classes into certain stats. I have no concerns about the difficulty or the mechanics thrown at us. In fact i love difficult stuff as long as it is about my skill as a gamer and not about what gear i am using. Now before you sh*tpost again, please be sure you stay within the context of what i am saying.

I think that more than forcing stats change its forcing a balanced team…. not a revolutionary concept IMO, about the timer, I saw all zerg teams fail yesterday, I think more resilience is needed to endure a long battle with a why not “enraged” boss… reason why I had to get two sets… one for healing and one for condition damage (I’m ele) … we need the SAVE/LOAD template option URGENT … T_T … not saying zergs are not needed tho..dps is needed on balanced teams… just equip some skills to stay alive for longer… I am sure every class has a few….. its easier to run to green areas when theres no need to be rezing people

First of all if you think the only way to deal damage is Zerks, you are so utterly wrong…..
You don’t exactly do more damage as a zerk than a condition build. The damage is just done differently. Most of the time our Condition team were done with their split boss before the zerkers…. And that was with 3 conditions and 4 zerks.
Second of all metas change and it was about time some more flavour was added to the GW2 meta rather than just Zerk builds.
Third of all my necro is not forced into condition or zerk. He can do both and equally well I could even tank with him with no issues. Second of all, my herald isn’t being forced into condition, healing, tank or zerk he does all four equally well and I could continue, but I’m not gonna because should have been obvious by now that you are not forced.

I never said zerker is the only way to deal dmg. But i did say your necro can play both, zerker OR condition. So i don’t see your point.
You do realize that engineer and necro are the prefered classes do deal condi dmg? That’s a well stated fact in the community (go on reddit for example). That’s why you’d rather pick a power dmg warrior and a condi necro – and not the other way around. So yeah, sure, you can play whatever you want, but odds being very efficient aren’t high. And therefore you are kind of forced, yes.
