Ok so my main I play is a ranger, I love the rangers, so i’m getting more then annoyed at the endless Nerfs their ranger gets hit with and the never ending wave of hate to rangers from other players.
Rangers Rely on their pets for half their DPS they inflict. The AI on our pets is Rubbish most of the time making matters worse.
Before HOT came out there was some glimmer of hope for the rangers with making us a useful team member once more, with the Addition of Druid to their class.
That hope was very quickly Smashed to bits. The healing power of our “Druid staff” is rubbish, its attacking points rack up, also rubbish, we can’t heal our team mates effectively, nor can we kill our enemies effectively. About all rangers can do is point a staff that looks like a dead sapling and flail while the player yells “you shall not pass” to add to the comical value. In short A-net your endless Nerfing of the Ranger class, with the FAILED add in of the Druid has made the ranger only useful as a jester!
I ask that you give us something a bit more useful then a staff for healing, and please for the love of the gods of Tyria, Address the AI on the ranger pets and Necro minions.
I agree, the rangers was nerfed into the ground prior to HoT. Instead of buffing them to be par with other classes, Anet made them a monk…this is so hilarious. Good job Anet, we know your hate for rangers is real, but at least make it less obvious.

Except a monk(At least in GW1) could do some decent damage with its Retribution skills!!!
The monk works in GW1 because you can select any skill to put on your bar and had a 2nd profession. It’s doesn’t work here in GW2 and I’m sure most rangers won’t be eagerly running a druid. It was a wasted effort and time developing this trait, Anet should of went another direction with the rangers.

Only reason im running it right now is because its AA allows for decent bleed stacking, which is what my ranger is built to do.
It still isnt the greatest i will admit though.
You guys must be doing something horribly wrong then, because Ranger is just fine for me. Good damage and team support. Lot’s of stuns and abilities that can break bars. You can literally heal your whole team in a few seconds if they’re positioned well. Try different builds. It feels good to me.

Try a reaper for breaking break bars. Reapers have break bar damage on virtually every button press.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the druid, but I, and many other rangers are not. So I’ve shelved my ranger, and am thoroughly enjoying my reaper. (even with the stupid blighter’s boon nerf)

Just kek. All of my freaking kek. Perhaps you’ll feel better with a cleric reaper.

Not me! I loveeee my ranger
Full Sinister armor, and trinkets as well as weapons. The damage i do on my shortbow, or longbow is decent, but the condition damage is excellent, 2.5k bleed stacks anyone? I dont use my druid as a healer, but even without any healing stats it does really decent healing, the damage is lower than my longbow or shortbow though, but it can stack bleeds faster.
I do run a beastmastery, for the extra bleeding my pets can stack, as well as the might stacking they get when i critical hit. That, and “Heal as one” coupled with the shout trait to reduce the cooldown, is a very capable build, well part of a build.
In a contest of “what is the worst new spec in hots” ranger doesn’t stand a chance because warrior wins that one by miles.
I’m enjoying my selfish Staff/GS Seed Druid.
I’m not enjoying seeing a Ranger/Druid nerf every new patch, though.
Let the selfish condi Druids unite! Until the next update when the next round of nerfs hit.
In other news, water continues to be wet, pet AI continues to be broken, and Mad King Thorn still has a pumpkin for a head.

Actually range is looking pretty good. With minions taking 95% reduced damage both rangers pets and spirits can stay alive a lot longer in PvE. Druid adds even more offensive support buffs. I have a feeling ranger could easily be meta tier for instanced PvE content.
weird . .. . …
Ranger is fine , Druid is not .
they kinda Balanced the healing part but nurfing the base heal and increasing the Co-ed means no difference apart from investing more healing stats to be effective.
Druid is a Natural low Damage dealer and the changes to Lingering light hurts its Sustain in survival 1 Aoe blind of 3second duration , which of this duration would only effect those in melee range or the duration would wear off quite quickly.
the Staff has no form of choice if used as a Healer/hybrid we have to use Core Ranger traits to add the Damage ether Traps/sharpen edges or poison master which is pet Reliant and pets condi damage looks to be bugged right now.
the QQ is now Aiming at Ancient seeds being too stong , though it is half the strenght of a Entangle without any direct damage making it justifiable 10-15second cooldown as it requires a Dazed target to be hit to activate the trait, and only a few people want it nurfed which i hope anet don’t listen to them.
if the druid staff had a little more viable damage for use in hybrid builds it would be in a perfect spot being able to be a Real bunker which can actively defend and pontentionaly kill a target if he stays too long , simply adding bleed to Vine Surge would be a instant improvement just like the threshers ability in pve mode,
if people walk through it they get a Bleed for every second they stay in the vines anjd the vines last for about 2seconds from cast to finish at max distance so you’ll only get two bleeds if you run away from it not over it.
or get hit by it at the start then gain more as you run its line, this gives the skill a tactical skillful use to line it up for greater effect.

If they made Druid the new 55 Monk, I’d be okay with that.
Gotta remember our roots.
I have never had a probably with my Ranger, and now that pets are basically immortal… that’s kind of a buff.
pets are not immortal ok, and druid is fine.

I saw the druid spec on anet’s twitch stream and though holy wow, healing wasn’t what I wanted as a ranger for a spec but this looked awesome and similar in comparison to WoW monks. Then I came to play it in beta, the dps was awful, the healing was nowhere near as awesome, in the end I just long-bowed everything because I was dying from taking too long to kill anything.
As a ranger I had high hopes we’d get something to go alongside with our ranged dps, like a sniper or a beastmaster spec. Healing? pfft! If they wanted a healing job then they should’ve given it to a whole new class, not as a spec for a dps class!
And since pets half the time are useless or need to be kept passive to avoid aggroing I really did hope anet might give us a tool to get rid of the pet altogether and boost our own dps because I’m losing out on dps with a drake that’s stuck at my side unable to participate in a fight because I’m stood on a rock or dies immediately in a fight because of close combat aoe. Instead they gave us a ghostly wail and a loud gong every time the pet jumps out which is not good for my anxiety.
Some seriously bad decisions there anet, really bad decisions. >.> I’m highly considering dropping ranger to make engineer my new main all thanks to these choices.
