Guild Wars 2

Okay so I spent €50 to pre-purchase GW2 HoT, “Guild Wars 2 core game included” written on the front and what surprise do I get inside? There’s no disc included. I know you can’t put on installs for Hot but if you had to include the core game and put a price tag of €50 on it why dont you just put a disc with the installs for the core game on it with a HoT logo?

That’s not actually the game though, it’s a pre-purchase pack. The original launch had the same thing, followed by an actual standard edition post launch. It came with a DVD, but it wasn’t actually used unless you manually copied the files.

and the core disc dont do much anyways when installing the game mostly downloads the newer content and only gets a little from the discs.

The original pre-purchase was the same. I got a thin case with nothing but a pre-purchase code inside (pre-purchased the CE), which is used to register it to gain the bonuses. The actual game and disc (and another game code to prove you have gotten the retail version) will come at launch.

People still buy games on disk? :O

If you had the core game on disc, the amount of downloading you’d need to do to make it into the current game is about equal. 2.5 years of changes and updates. Why is a disc even a thing anymore?

You did not purchase the disc version of the game.
That will be available at launch.
You bought a pre purchase physical copy,that includes a
key that makes you eligible for HoT.
You also got the pp bonuses,as in a char slot and beta access.
The disc version of the game won’t get those.
In other words,this does not look bad because it was never
meant to have a disc inside.
